About Centralia School District

The school district is located in Lewis County, one of the largest of Washington’s 39 counties and one of the most scenic. District enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year averaged 3,600 which includes a four-year AA high school, a two-year middle school, five primary/intermediate elementary grade centers, and an alternative high school.

In February 2017 nearly 62 percent of voters in the Centralia School District approved a $74 million general obligation bond. Paired with $27 million in state matching funds, the district will use the funding to completely reconstruct and modernize Centralia High School and replace Fords Prairie and Jefferson Lincoln elementary schools with brand new facilities. Each new elementary school will have a capacity of 525 students in a K-6 configuration, eliminating a significant number of portable classrooms thought the district. In addition, each remaining elementary school in Centralia will be reconfigured to K-6 and all schools will receive substantial safety and security upgrades.

At CHS, a new STEM facility will be constructed along with the existing building renovations. This STEM facility is funded in part by a $3.616 million grant from OSPI.

We are dedicated to providing a quality education for all through programs and facilities of which Centralians are justly proud. The district employs 233 certificated and 291 classified staff members.
