JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Head Girls Basketball Coach

1. Knowledge of the assigned sport.
2. Previous coaching experience in the assigned sport preferred.
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administrator may deem appropriate

REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Athletics / Principal JOB GOAL: To organize, coordinate and promote a comprehensive athletic program in the assigned sport that is designed to meet the needs and interests of the school community. To provide effective leadership that will ensure a positive learning environment and will stress the importance of academic achievement.

To demonstrate a high degree of ethics, professionalism, human relations and be a positive role model for all students.

1. Comply with the rules and regulations of the Eastside Catholic Schools and the WIAA.
2. Communicate to all participants the policies of the team, school, and Board of Trustees relating to school sponsored activities. (Student & Coaches Handbook)
3. Submit forms as required by the WIAA and the school; i.e., eligibility rosters, players’ addresses, etc. Performance Responsibilities - Athletic Coach
4. Be responsible for public relations and publicity for the assigned athletic program; establish procedures for communicating with parents/guardians.
5. Plan, organize, and implement the teaching of fundamentals, strategies, rules, and proper conditioning in the assigned sport. This includes camps and clinics in the off season and helping set up and run youth programs for their specific sport.
6. Provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship; compile and maintain accurate individual and team performance records; participate in the awards program(s) according to school procedure.
7. Ensure that adequate supervision is provided for all students involved in the program; provide for the safety of participants by inspecting facilities and equipment and being aware of environmental conditions.
8. Issue, collect, inventory, and store equipment consistent with department guidelines.
9. Instruct participants in safety procedures and in the need to report injuries to the coach and/or trainer immediately; implement appropriate procedures for handling injury situations; ensure the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit and emergency care cards at all times.
10. Inform students of the insurance program available through Eastside Catholic High School.

Girls Varsity Head Basketball Coach

Eastside Catholic High School, a WIAA Class 3A and member of the prestigious Metro Conference, is accepting applications for a Girls Varsity Head Basketball Coach reporting to the Senior Director of Athletics.

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include, but are not limited to: organization, administration and coaching of the girls basketball program including supervising staff; clearly defined philosophy of coaching and teaching basketball; managing the budget responsibly; acting as a liaison between the boosters and athletic department, monitoring student-athletes' academic progress; working with the Athletic Director to schedule contests and practices; commitment to player development both in strength and skill; scouting and team preparation of opponents; committing to Eastside Catholic High School, the WIAA, and Metro Conference rules and regulations and all other aspects of directing a quality interscholastic girls basketball program. The candidate must have knowledge of WIAA rules as well as, effective communication, leadership skills and positive student-athlete, school community, alumni and athletics department relations.

In addition to directing the girls basketball program, the coach will conduct on-campus basketball camps and/or clinics for development of the youth basketball program; serve as liaison to the Eastside Select basketball Program for department community outreach projects and services; and serve as liaison with the CYO Basketball In House Coordinator.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, successful head coaching or collegiate coaching experience required.
