Position: Assistant Director of Athletics
Location Seattle, Washington
Description The Assistant Director of Athletics, reporting to the Director of Athletics, is part of an interscholastic athletics program that includes 23 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle school counterparts. The Assistant Director is part of the five-person athletics department team, joining the director, another assistant director, and an administrative assistant. The Assistant Director is directly responsible for supporting the activities of all individual sports programs. This is a full year, full time position beginning immediately.

• Serve as the athletics department’s primary point of contact for sports information and digital communication which can include, but is not limited to, the department’s online presence and the production of sport-specific and program-wide promotional materials;

• Maintain and update program records and statistics (in coordination with head varsity coaches) for population on the athletics department’s interactive kiosk and for archival purposes;

• Assist with the production of the three seasonal media guides;

• Manage data input for the school’s website, league websites, and Veracross;

• Manage sign-up process for each middle school sports season;

• Serve as liaison with Catholic Youth Organization (CYO), Seattle Metropolitan Youth Lacrosse Association (SMYLA), and Washington Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association (WSLA);

• Serve as the primary in-building contact for all constituents on issues related to middle school athletics;

• Attend Lakeside athletic events off campus, serving as the supervisor on duty and helping to ensure a consistent and dependable administrative presence (shared with director and assistant director);

• Provide event oversight for hosted competitions, including facilities preparation, scheduling of officials, coordination of the event management team, communication with opponents, and physical presence during competitions (middle school and upper school);

• Assist the director of athletics with monthly program head meetings and seasonal coaches meetings and planning initiatives to support the Lakeside Athletics Strategic Plan;

• Build positive relationships with coaches, athletics staff, student-athletes, parents/guardians, and peer schools to ensure that the athletics office is viewed as a resource and a safe place;

• Support multi-sport participation for student athletes;

• Promote balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student athletes; and,

• Other duties as assigned by the director of athletics.

Requirements and Qualifications

Successful candidates must be at least 25 years old, have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in a field related to athletics, sports management, or education. Two to four years of experience preferred in independent school, high school athletics, or collegiate athletics. Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean driving record; and, must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check. If not already certified, the person hired must obtain First Aid and CPR certifications immediately.
