Position: Head Football Coach
Location Stadium High School - Tacoma
Description This position implements and manages an appropriate and effective athletic program within the building.

Responsibilities:
1. Plans, develops and implements an effective athletic program for the building; determines coaching needs within the building; confers with the head coach on coaching assignments within his/her program; follows collective bargaining agreement in filling coaching positions; recommends personnel to the principal to fill coaching assignment within the building; ensures all coaches hired meet school district and Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) requirements.

2. Supervises the day-to-day operation of the school’s athletic program; supervises coaches, trainers, and equipment managers; meets with coaches to discuss areas of mutual concern; provides input for evaluation of coaches; assists coaches in the administration of their sport; enforces school district, league, West Central District (WCD) and WIAA regulations; coordinates activities with other athletic directors.

3. Evaluates present programs, facilities and makes recommendations where necessary; monitors boys and girls programs to assure there is no discrimination on the basis of sex in violation of Title IX.

4. Prepares yearly budgets with assistance of coaches; submits yearly budgets to the ASB for approval; administers the approved budget; maintains program equipment; provides prompt and accurate athletic payroll to the district Athletic Office.

5. Certifies athletes for eligibility to turn out and compete in interscholastic athletic program and maintains the required records; prepares eligibility lists and team rosters with the assistance of coaches;

6. Secures maintenance services for existing athletic facilities and makes recommendations for additional or future needs; ensures proper set up for athletic contests.

7. Supervises or arranges for supervision at athletic events held within the building or designated sites; ensures the provision of adequate medical supplies necessary to support the athletic programs as requested by athletic trainer; secures personnel necessary to operate athletic contests; issues league and district athletic passes; coordinates athletic publicity.

8. Assists coaches with determining equipment needs and purchasing equipment; supervises the issuing of equipment to coaches for distribution to athletes who have been cleared for competition; monitors the return of all school equipment and holds the coaches and athletes responsible for all equipment not returned; maintains accurate records of equipment distribution; issues athletic locks and locker assignments to head coaches.

9. Schedules the use of facilities with assistance of coaches involved; prepares league schedules as assigned by the league; assists coaches with scheduling of non-league contests; coordinates activities with other athletic directors; schedules transportation necessary to meet athletic commitments.

Licenses/Special Requirements

First Aid Certificate, CPR card and AED training are required.
