Position: Varsity Head Baseball Coach
Location Bainbridge Island
Bainbridge High School / continuing
Job Summary:
The Head Varsity Baseball coach will be the program head for all levels of the Baseball program. Responsibilities include development of practice and game plans, provide direction and assistance to fellow coaches, support recruiting efforts and assume other duties as assigned. This person will also maintain the grounds as needed. Current CPR/First Aid required prior to beginning season
Essential Duties:
* Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time to provide both individual and team development.
* Assesses player's skills and assign team positions.
* Coach and instruct players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
* Observe players during competition and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
* Determine game strategy based on the team's capabilities.
* Implement and supervise strength and conditioning program.
* Attend all games and practices.
* Conference and communicate with parents/guardians, as necessary, regarding the performance of their athlete.
* Monitor the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met; encourage student athletes to maintain a high academic standard.
* Establish and maintain standards of athlete's behavior and provide proper supervision of athletes at all times.
* Follow state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.
* Support summer programs as necessary.
* Support annual camps and activities as assigned.
* Hold organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to participate in the sport.
* Acts as a team representative to promote the sport by communicating with the news media, booster clubs, service clubs, and other organizations as directed by the Athletic Director.
* Follows established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
Other Duties
* Dress, act, and represent Bainbridge High School appropriately at all athletic events, practices, and activities.
* Model positive behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
* Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
* Work with the Athletic Director to develop a policy for awards and submits a list of award winners at the end of the season.
* Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.
* Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.
* Maintain eligibility forms, emergency data cards, insurance records, equipment inventory, and other related records.
* Works with the Athletic Director in scheduling facilities for practices and competition.
* Participates in special activities to include parent's night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
* Responsible for maintenance and supervision of the gym spaces or athletic fields, fitness center and locker room as assigned by the head coach.
* Assist with fund-raising activities throughout the year.
* Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:
1. Prior coaching experience, college level experience as a coach or player including recruiting and camps/clinics preferred.
2. Strong interpersonal communication skills, knowledge of and commitment to student athlete development and demonstrated knowledge of baseball.
3. Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport, the WIAA and BISD policies
4. Must successfully attain certification in the Fundamentals of Coaching by the NFHS or equivalent to continue employment
5. Knowledge of computer information systems including social media platforms.
6. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students. am
