  • WIAA to Air 12 State Basketball Championship Games

    WIAA to Broadcast 12 Championship Games, Saturday

    Saturday's championship games begin at 3 p.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

     
    RENTON, Wash. – The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) will air 12 WIAA/Dairy Famers of Washington/Les Schwab Tires State Basketball Championship games, Saturday, March 2.
     
    Beginning with the 1B, 2B tournaments at the Spokane Arena, fans will have the opportunity to watch the championships on a variety of platforms.  SWX, KHQ’s digital channel, will carry the four state championships beginning with the 1B girls at 3 p.m.  The 1B boys championship is slated for a 5 p.m. tip-off, while the 2B girls and 2B boys will begin at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively.  All four games will also air on the WIAA Network.  For a list of SWX channels, click here.  For the 1B games, John Fritz will provide play-by-play, while Sam Adams will cover the 2B games.  Greg Hannan will color commentary on the girls games and Bill Ames will be the boys color commentator.
     
    At the Yakima Valley SunDome, the 1A, 2A championships will appear on the WIAA Network.  The 1A classification will begin at 3 p.m., starting with the girls, while the 2A championships will begin at 7 p.m. Jake Eastman and Michael Baldwin will provide all the action.
     
    Root Sports will carry all four championships from the Tacoma Dome.  The 3A girls championship will be a tape delayed broadcast and will air on Root Sports at 11 p.m.  The game can be seen live at 3 p.m. on the WIAA Network.  The 3A boys will start at 5 p.m., while the 4A girls will tip at 7 p.m. and the 4A boys will conclude the event at 9 p.m.  Brad Adam and Bill Krueger will call the action from the boys side, while Bob Akamian and Dave Harshman will be broadcasting the girls games.
     
    All 12 championships will be archived on the WIAA Network for on-demand viewing, and all live and on-demand content is free to view.
