Andy Barnes

Assistant Executive Director

Andy Barnes is one of two new assistant executive directors at the WIAA.  He was promoted from the WIAA production coordinator position which he served from February 2005 until July 2006.  Andy oversees swimming and diving bowling, and golf.  He will manage the Emerald City Kickoff Classic and the WIAA Hall of Fame as well.  In addition to those responsibilities, he will oversee the Academic Achievement Program and will work with the middle schools committee.

Andy joined the WIAA staff after graduating from Washington State University with a degree in Sport Management, while earning a minor in Business Administration.  While at Washington State he was a part of the Cougar golf team in the Spring of 2003.  Andy served the WIAA as an intern from May 2004 until October before accepting the production coordinator position in February of 2005.  While serving as the production coordinator he managed the Scholastic Cup program as well as working on the WIAA’s Interscholastic magazine.  His main responsibilities as an intern were managing the WIAA Coaches School vendors and serving as the Emerald City Kickoff Classic Game day Operations Manager.

Andy lives in Puyallup where he attended at Rogers High School.
