Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Tennis and Track and Field Championships This Weekend

RENTON, WA (Tuesday, May 25, 2010) – The 2010 WIAA/Dairy Farmers of Washington/Les Schwab Tires Spring State Championships continue Thursday, May 27, and wrap up Saturday, May 29. Tournament sites will be held across the state, including Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma, Tri-Cities, Vancouver and Yakima.

Tournament brackets of all the WIAA/Dairy Farmers of Washington/Les Schwab Tires Spring State Championships can be accessed by visiting www.wiaa.com and clicking on ‘Tournaments’ and then ‘Brackets.’ Check the Web site during the weekend for tournament information, driving directions, ticket prices and results.

The WIAA has partnered with WINNW.com and BSports.org to provide live webcast coverage of select championship games this week. Fans can listen live to select semifinal and final games of the baseball and softball state championships by visiting www.wiaa.com and selecting ‘Athletics & Activities,’ then ‘Spring’ and then ‘Baseball’ or ‘Softball.’ Once at the appropriate classification, fans can click on the 'Listen Live' icon. FloTrack will webcast the 2A, 3A, 4A State Track and Field Championships live. Fans can access FloTrack’s webcast by visiting www.wiaa.com and selecting ‘Athletics & Activities,’ then ‘Spring’ and then ‘Track and Field.’

Online media registration for the Spring State Championships will close Tuesday, May 25 at 11:59 p.m.  Please bring your printed e-mail confirmation letter and official photo credential to check-in at the designated pass gate.  In the event a member of the media does not have a photo credential, please have a signed letter (from the company supervisor that states the teams you intend to cover and who is representing your media outlet) on company letterhead.  All media interested in covering the 3A, 4A State Baseball Championships at Safeco Field should plan to enter the facility at the home plate entrance, located next to the Safeco Field box office.  Media packets will be available online no later than Wednesday, May 26. Go to www.wiaa.com and select ‘Media’ and then ‘Media Credential Registration’ to access the media packets.
