The amendments go into effect beginning with the 2001-2002 classification/allocation cycle.

HONORARY EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS –Adds
a Fine Arts representative to the WIAA Executive Board.
18.10.0
ELIGIBILITY – Determines the window of transfer for a student to
transfer from a public school to a private school or from a private school to a
public school.
54.2.0
HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY –
Pre-contest practices reduced from twelve to ten for a jamboree (twelve required
for regular season competition.)

USE OF NON-REGISTERED OFFICIALS FOR MIDDLE LEVEL CONTESTS
– Outlines the procedures middle level schools must follow to use
non-registered officials.

MIDDLE LEVEL FOOTBALL –
Players who played in three or less quarters are eligiblt to play a fifth
quarter.

be reviewed by the League(s) of the sponsoring schools.
17.7.0
MIDDLE LEVEL OUT-OF-SEASON
DEFINITION - In the absence of a sport being offered by the middle level
school, twelve (12) weeks within the high school season dates shall
apply.

OUT-OF-SEASON - Out-of-season coaching restrictions do not apply
to fundraising activities unless the fundraising activities are specific to
the sport being coached.

An overtime period(s) does not count toward the daily or weekly
quarter limitation rule.
17.13.2
PLACEMENT OF EMBLEM ON SCHOOL UNIFORM
– An American flag and/or a commemorative emblem (approved by WIAA) may be
worn on the school uniform.
18.15.0
EIGHTH GRADE PARTICIPATION – Specifies when the enrollment
count is taken to determine whether eighth graders are eligible to participate
at the high school.

RULE VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES - Fines may be levied by the school,
league, WIAA district board, or WIAA executive board for the violation of a WIAA
rule.
