Looking for a Few Good Officials

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) Officials Department and the USTA Diversity Department are working together to tap into new resources, communities and explore new relationships to recruit candidates who are excited about becoming an official at any level.  An ongoing program for the recruitment and training of new officials offers an opportunity for tennis players and enthusiasts to become involved in a variety of officiating roles. These roles range from overseeing local junior/senior tournaments and collegiate events, to officiating on court at the US Open.

We are in the process of recruiting new officials for the Pacific Northwest. One excellent source of future officials is current and former high school and collegiate tennis players. Our general approach is to contact the coaches who know these players the best, for their referrals to candidates.

We would greatly appreciate any assistance you could provide us in our effort to contact these high school coaches. We have an officiating school in Portland on January 15th and another in the Seattle area sometime in May.
