Snohomish HS Football

Few athletes from Washington achieved the level of distinction earned by Curt Marsh, one of the state’s most decorated high school football players. A standout at Snohomish High School, Curt anchored the 1976 Panther football team that went undefeated and captured the state championship. That same year, he was honored as Offensive Lineman of the Year by Prep Sports. In addition to his gridiron success, Curt excelled in multiple sports, serving as captain of the basketball team and competing in track and field.

Curt continued his athletic journey at the University of Washington, where he became a fixture on some of the Huskies’ greatest teams. He played in two Rose Bowls and a Sun Bowl, earning All-Pac-10 honors and recognition as a Third Team All-American during his senior year. His success led to him being selected in the first round of the 1981 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. As a rookie, Curt made history as the team’s first starting rookie lineman since 1967. His professional career reached its pinnacle in 1983 when he helped the Raiders capture a Super Bowl championship over Washington. He remained with the Raiders until 1987.

Beyond the field, Curt built a lasting legacy of service and inspiration. A published author and motivational speaker, he dedicated many years to working with the City of Everett, where he developed programs for at-risk youth such as Silver Mountain Challenge and Code 10. His passion for helping others ultimately led to his role as Recreation Superintendent, and later to a career focused on mentoring and inspiring others.
