Welcome to Prosser Washington. For those of you who are avid high school football followers or into the Wine Industry, Prosser is not a new name, but for the rest of you who have probably never visited my small hometown of approximately 5,000 people, here is some background...
Prosser is located between Yakima and the Tri-Cities. It is home to over 30 wineries and is known throughout the world for its wine. Other than that, we have a football team that has won 22 district titles in 24 years, a girls basketball team that has placed at state the last 4 years and an FFA club that has gone to Nationals too many years to count.

I just wrapped up my soccer season on Saturday losing to East Valley Spokane in the quarterfinals of state. We had about 6 players make All-Conference teams. It was our first time in school history winning a league title and making it to the second round of state so it was quite the season. The football team won another district title this year and plays in the quarter finals this weekend. My brother was the unanimous pick for All- Conference defensive end as a junior (I had to slip that in there). Our Volleyball team made it to regionals this year and Cross Country sent two runners to State. Overall it was a good season to be a Prosser Mustang. Basketball & other winter sports started this week. The girls Basketball team is looking to make a run at the state title and we have a returning State Champ Wrestler so the winter season should not be much different.

Other than sports, our local drama club just put on “Our Town” and really did a great job with it. The Dance team put on a “Pink Week” in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness and raised over $5,000.

Also Prosser graduates Kellen Moore and his brother Kirby Moore are playing for the currently ranked No. 4 Boise State football team ( Don’t even get me started on why they are not ranked higher) and Kellen is contending for the Heisman Trophy. Also PHS graduate Claire Raap is playing her senior year with the Gonzaga Basketball team and is going to be a key player this year.

Prosser is pretty great. It is small but keeps you busy and our athletic programs are all about hard work and teamwork. It produces good people, not just athletes, and is a great place to grow up!
