Feed Your Game:  Sport Nutritionists Top Three Tips for Fueling Athletes

Tip of the Month  |  By Emily Edison, Sports Nutritionist

1. Eat frequently throughout the day.  Eat 4-6 times per day to ensure adequate energy and nutrition.  Start with breakfast and finish with a before bed snack.

2. Never ever skip breakfast.  "A bowl of cereal is an appetizer to an athletes breakfast.”  Add toast with peanut butter and fruit to your bowl of cereal to create a high performance breakfast.

3. Drink water throughout your day to maintain hydration. A hydrated body and brain performs better!  Drink at least 1/2 your body weight in ounces daily.
