    WIAA Announces State Soccer Championships
    Sumner, Puyallup and Lakewood Will Host

    RENTON, Wash. Washington high school soccer athletes conclude their quest for a state championship, Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21 as the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA), the Dairy Farmers of Washington, and Les Schwab Tires present the 1B/2B Boys, 1B/2B, 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A Girls State Soccer Championships.

    The 2010 1B/2B Boys and 1B/2B Girls State Soccer Championships will be held at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner. On the boys’ side, Providence Classical Christian meets 2009 semifinal participant La Conner in a 6 p.m. match-up, while Riverside Christian and Shoreline Christian are slated for an 8 p.m. showdown. The girls’ bracket features Napavine and Evergreen Lutheran at 2 p.m. before Warden takes on Seattle Lutheran at 4 p.m.

    The 1A and 2A Girls State Soccer Championships will be held at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup. The semifinal match-ups in 1A action features Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) versus Bush at 2 p.m., while Overlake and Vashon Island are slated for a 4 p.m. kickoff. The 2A semifinal breakdown showcases Buckely’s White River and East Valley (Spokane) at 6 p.m., before reigning champion Archbishop Murphy and Sehome round out the evening at 8 p.m.

    Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood serves as the host site for the 3A and 4A Girls State Soccer Championships. Seattle Prep and Southridge meet in the first semifinal contest at 2 p.m., while Prairie and Bonney Lake are scheduled for 4 p.m. Two-time defending champion Skyline highlights the 4A’s semifinals matches against Tahoma at 6 p.m., while Kentwood and Skyview close out the semifinals at 8 p.m.
