Each week, the WIAA and Gesa Credit Union will recognize WIAA student-athletes for outstanding performances and impactful contributions in their communities. Selections are based on nominations. To nominate a student-athlete for consideration, please fill out the following form.
All students in good academic standing at their schools are eligible to receive the Athlete of the Week Award. Students may win the award once during any given academic year.

FIONA ANDERSON – Freeman Track & Field (JR)
LUKE BARRICK – Onalaska Track & Field (SR)
Senior Luke Barrick delivered a record-breaking performance at the Rainier Icebreaker Invitational, clearing 16’1″ in the pole vault to break his own school record and set a new 2B state record while earning first place. Barrick, who previously held the school record at 15’7″, continues to raise the bar with his performances. Beyond his success in competition, he is a respected leader known for his strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to support both teammates and fellow competitors.
AALIYAH BOWMAN – Blaine Softball (SR)
Senior Aaliyah Bowman leads with confidence and impact, setting the tone for Blaine through both her performance and presence. She has recorded three home runs while posting an impressive 1.672 OPS and 1.143 slugging percentage, consistently delivering in key moments. Beyond her production at the plate, Bowman is a true leader whose character, sportsmanship, and positivity elevate those around her. Her accountability and ability to lead by example make her a standard-setter for her teammates.
ANAIAH CHARLES – Pasco Dance/Drill (SR)
Senior Anaiah Charles has established herself as one of the most accomplished athletes in Pasco High School history, competing on varsity all four years and earning two Dance Team Union National Hip Hop titles along with eight WIAA State Championships across Hip Hop, Prop, Show, and Pom. A team captain this season, Charles helped lead Pasco to first-place finishes in Hip Hop at every competition, including WIAA State, while continuing to excel at the national level. Known for her work ethic, resilience, and leadership, she consistently sets the standard for her teammates, mentoring dancers of all levels and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture. In addition to her athletic success, Charles excels academically through advanced coursework and college-level classes, making her a standout student-athlete and leader in every aspect.
REECE COLBERT – Life Christian/Charles Wright Baseball(SR)
Senior Reece Colbert delivered an incredible week at the plate, helping lead Life Christian Academy to a 3-0 start against Nisqually League opponents. Colbert went 6-for-7 (.857) across 13 plate appearances with three singles, three doubles, two RBIs, and nine runs scored, while also drawing five walks and being hit by a pitch without recording a single strikeout. His only out came on a line drive to center field, as he consistently applied pressure and forced opposing teams to pitch around him.
XAVIER EWING – Soap Lake Tennis (SR)
Senior Xavier Ewing has opened the season strong as Soap Lake’s No. 1 singles player, earning two dominant wins this week, including a 6-1, 6-1 victory over a returning state qualifier and a 6-1, 6-2 win in another match. His success is driven by a relentless work ethic, consistently putting in extra time on the court to refine his game and reach his goals. Ewing also stands out in the classroom as a dedicated student and leader, always willing to help his peers succeed.
MAKENZIE HENTHORN – Mark Morris Softball (SR)
Senior Makenzie Henthorn delivered a dominant two-way performance, striking out 17 batters to lead Mark Morris to an 8-1 win over Timberline (3A). The left-handed pitcher allowed just one hit and one unearned run over seven innings while walking one. At the plate, Henthorn also led the way, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. A University of Montana commit, she continues to showcase her impact both in the circle and offensively.
BRAYDEN MCALLISTER – Lakewood Baseball (JR)
Junior Brayden McAllister had a strong week for Lakewood, going 4-for-7 with three doubles, a single, three RBIs, and a run scored across two games. In a matchup against Oak Harbor, McAllister delivered the game-winning hit on a walk-off ball to the wall, driving in two runs. He also made an impact defensively, throwing out a runner attempting to advance from first to third.

BRITTA NELSON – Gig Harbor Dance/Drill (SR)
Senior Britta Nelson, a captain of the H2Whoa Dance Team, has played a key role in leading Gig Harbor to both a district and State title in Pom while also competing in Hip Hop and Dance. A four-year leader on the team, Nelson has helped guide sustained success through her leadership and commitment. She is also an active member of the Puget Sound School District Student Athlete Leadership Council, helping organize events that promote sportsmanship across the league. In the classroom, Nelson excels with a 3.92 GPA, further demonstrating her well-rounded excellence.
KYLA THURSTON – Dayton Softball (FR)
Freshman Kyla Thurston has made an immediate impact for Dayton, bringing energy and confidence to the lineup while hitting .400 to start the season. Her early production includes a single, two doubles, a triple, and four home runs—highlighted by a grand slam—while driving in 14 RBIs and delivering in key moments. Beyond her impressive stats, Thurston’s positive attitude, strong work ethic, and support for her teammates have made her a valuable presence and emerging leader on the team.

BENJI TOSCANO – Auburn Mountainview Soccer (SR)
Senior Benji Toscano has been a key contributor for Auburn Mountainview, scoring six goals in just three games while playing from the midfield, including strong performances against league rivals. His ability to deliver in clutch moments, combined with his playmaking and leadership, has helped secure all three wins for his team. A team captain, Toscano sets the tone both on and off the field with his competitive mindset and leadership.
JULIAN WAITE – Hanford Soccer (SO)
Sophomore Julian Waite stepped up in a big way for Hanford during a challenging week, helping lead a young lineup with limited depth. Waite scored the go-ahead goal in a hard-fought match early in the week, then followed with two first-half goals in another game to once again put Hanford in front. Finishing with three goals across two matches, he showed leadership and composure beyond his years while helping guide his team through adversity.
RAIMEY BREWER – Sequim Golf (SR)
MARIAH COMBE – Hermiston Dance/Drill (SR)
Senior captain Mariah Combe has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership, dedication, and accountability throughout the season. She plays a vital role in maintaining structure and focus during practices, leading by example and setting the standard for both performance and team culture. Combe is a trusted leader who her teammates rely on for guidance and support, while also excelling academically and balancing the demands of school and athletics with discipline and responsibility. As Hermiston approaches the State competition, her leadership, poise, and commitment continue to be instrumental to the team’s success.
JAMESON DAVIS – Selkirk Track & Field (SR)
Senior Jameson Davis is off to a strong start this season, setting a new personal record in the javelin with a throw of 164’6″ at the VCS Jamboree. Davis consistently demonstrates focus and motivation, working to refine his technique and push his performance to new levels. In addition to his success in competition, he is a supportive and respectful teammate who is always willing to help others and contributes positively to his team’s culture.
LINLEY DONNELLY – DeSales Softball (FR)
Sophomore Linley Donnelly delivered an outstanding performance at a weekend tournament in Yakima, batting .750 (9-for-12) with a .769 on-base percentage. Her production included six singles, three triples, four RBIs, and four runs scored, along with a sacrifice bunt. Donnelly also contributed defensively with a .889 fielding percentage, showcasing her all-around impact.
SAM FRENCH – West Valley Track & Field (JR)
Junior Sam French is making major strides in the throws this season, surpassing the 50-foot mark in the shot put for the first time with a throw of 51′ 5.5″. He has also set a personal record in the discus at 142′ 10″, leading his team in the event. French continues to establish himself as a leader in the throws at West Valley while also excelling in the classroom.
SARAH GARTON – Mercer Island Tennis (JR)
Junior Sarah Garton has built an outstanding tennis career at Mercer Island, earning back-to-back State Doubles Championships in 2024 and 2025 alongside her sister, Rachel. Transitioning to the No. 1 singles position this season, Garton has started strong with wins over Highline and Interlake, including a hard-fought victory in a third-set tiebreaker against Interlake’s top player.
BRIAN KOKOTEK – La Center Track & Field (SR)
Senior Brian Kokotek delivered a record-breaking performance at the Wildcat Relay, throwing the discus 149 feet to surpass the previous school record by four feet.
VIOLET SCOTT – Kamiakin Golf (SO)
Sophomore Violet Scott continued her dominant start to the season, earning two league match wins with rounds of 86 at Meadow Springs and 77 at Big River. She has now won all three tournaments she has competed in this season, establishing herself as one of the top performers in her league.

CARTER SMITH – Cedarcrest Baseball (SR)
Senior Carter Smith delivered an impressive all-around week for Cedarcrest, hitting a grand slam to lead his team to a win over Interlake and dominating on the mound with 10 strikeouts over 4.1 innings while allowing no earned runs against Olympic. Smith, who is committed to Bellevue College, continues to showcase his impact both at the plate and on the mound.
LYAL VIERS – Cedar Park Christian Baseball (SR)
Senior Lyal Viers delivered a dominant performance on the mound, throwing a perfect game against University Prep while recording 14 strikeouts over seven innings.

KENDRIA WANG – Overlake Golf (JR)
Junior Kendria Wang delivered a record-breaking performance, shooting 4-under to earn 40 points in a match against King’s, setting both a new school and league record. During her round, Wang recorded five consecutive birdies, showcasing an exceptional level of play.
ADIE WRIGHT – North Central Track & Field (SR)
Senior Adie Wright turned in a remarkable week across multiple events, running a 10.83 in the 100 meters at the Cheney HS jamboree to become the second-fastest athlete in North Central history and rank No. 2 in 3A. He also set a personal record in the high jump at 6’2″, which also ranks No. 2 in 3A. Wright followed that with a 22.44 in the 200 meters in Lewiston, moving to the top of the 3A state rankings. Additionally, he anchored the 4×100 relay to the second-fastest 3A time in the state and ran a 50.7 split on the 4×400 relay, which ranks third.
JACK BRIGHAM – Lewis and Clark Golf (SR)
JACKSON BRIGHT – Adna Baseball
Jackson Bright helped lead Adna to a strong start to the season, as the team went 2-0 against Morton-White Pass. Bright delivered at the plate with three hits and two RBIs across the series, playing a key role in the team’s early success.
JOHN CRUZ – Highline Dance/Drill (JR)
Junior John Cruz has made an immediate impact as a first-year member of the Highline Drill Team, bringing energy, determination, and a strong willingness to grow to every practice and performance. A true go-getter, Cruz consistently pushes himself to learn new techniques and embrace challenges with a positive mindset. This season, he made program history as the first male dancer to represent Highline at the State level, marking a significant milestone for the team. His dedication, enthusiasm, and trailblazing presence make him a standout athlete and leader.
BENJI DUFAULT – La Salle Track & Field (JR)
Junior Benji Dufault turned in a strong early-season performance by winning the 100 meters at the Eisenhower Jamboree with a time of 11.01.
OWEN FOLEY – Anacortes Soccer (SR)
Senior Owen Foley has delivered strong captain-level performances during the preseason, recording three assists from the midfield while helping guide and mentor incoming freshmen. His leadership and playmaking have set the tone for the team early on.
YAZAMA GURNSEY – Rainier Baseball (SO)
Yazama Gurnsey helped Rainier get off to a strong start to the season with a standout performance at the plate, recording four hits and four RBIs across two games against Mossyrock. His production played a key role in the team’s early success.
JAYCEE KEMP – Puyallup Softball (FR)
Freshman Jaycee Kemp made an impressive high school debut, throwing a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts against Seattle Christian. Her dominant performance highlights a bright future ahead in the circle.
SHARESE KNOX – Kennewick Track & Field (JR)
Junior Sharese Knox has emerged as one of the top competitors in the MCC, finishing as the league’s second-highest scorer last season as a sophomore. She currently leads the league in the triple jump with a mark of 34’5.5″ and has her sights set on breaking the school record before graduation. Beyond her athletic success, Knox is a dependable leader who consistently supports her teammates and mentors underclassmen.

MATTHEW MILLER – Port Angeles Soccer (SR)
Senior captain Matthew Miller led Port Angeles to two comeback victories to open the season, delivering clutch performances in both matches. Miller recorded two goals and an assist in a win over Steilacoom after the Riders trailed 1-0 at halftime, then followed with a goal and an assist in a 3-2 comeback victory over Bremerton after trailing 2-0. His playmaking and scoring ability sparked both rallies, consistently beating defenders to create opportunities and finishing with precision to secure the wins.
MIA STAGGS – Naches Valley Track & Field
Mia Staggs delivered a strong performance at the Eisenhower Jamboree, winning the long jump with a mark of 16′ 1.5″.

RUBY WALBLOM – Ballard Softball (JR)
Junior Ruby Walblom delivered an incredible performance on opening day, going 4-for-4 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in Ballard’s 19-6 win over Cascade. She finished just a triple shy of hitting for the cycle, showcasing her all-around impact at the plate. Off the field, Walblom is a standout leader and student, bringing a contagious energy and positive presence to her team.
SARIAH WISE – Sunnyside Dance/Drill (SR)
Senior Sariah Wise exemplifies dedication, leadership, and excellence both in and out of the classroom. A Running Start student, she balances rigorous college-level coursework while remaining actively involved in her school community, earning Honors Society recognition and being named an incoming University of Washington Presidential Scholar. Wise is a three-year class officer, Link Crew leader, and active participant in dance and weightlifting, while also mentoring younger students and athletes. Her commitment to service extends through internships in law, environmental advocacy, and city government, as well as roles as a Special Education classroom assistant and dance instructor. Through her leadership at school, in her community, and in her church, Wise consistently demonstrates compassion, responsibility, and a drive to uplift those around her.
DYSON EDWARDS – Lummi Nation Basketball (JR)
JUNE FIANDER – Zillah Basketball (JR)
Junior June Fiander delivered a standout performance in the State Championship game, scoring 25 points to lead Zillah in the title matchup. Her scoring effort played a pivotal role in the team’s performance on the biggest stage of the season.
ISA GARCIA – Davis Basketball (JR)
Junior Isa Garcia played a key role in Davis’ championship run, scoring 20, 14, and 24 points across the team’s three State Tournament games. Garcia’s consistent scoring helped lead Davis to its second consecutive State Championship.
ANGEL HALTTUNEN – Neah Bay Basketball (SR)
Senior Angel Halttunen recorded 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in the State Championship game to help lead Neah Bay to its fourth consecutive State Championship. Her all-around performance played a key role in securing another title for the program.
DAWSON HINTZ – Lynden Christian Basketball (JR)
Junior Dawson Hintz played a pivotal role in Lynden Christian’s championship run, scoring 24 points in the semifinal and adding 18 points in the State Championship game. His strong performances helped lead the Lyncs to the 1A State Championship.
JAYDEN HUNT – Lake Washington Basketball (JR)
Junior Jayden Hunt delivered standout performances during the State Tournament, scoring 28 and 29 points in two games to help lead Lake Washington to a 3rd-place finish in the highly competitive 4A classification.
MICAH ILI-MENEESE – Rainier Beach Basketball (JR)
Junior Micah Ili-Meneese played a key role in Rainier Beach’s championship run, scoring 17, 30, and 15 points across the Vikings’ three State Tournament games. His strong performances helped lead Rainier Beach to back-to-back State Championships while capping an undefeated season.
ADRIK JENKIN – Colfax Basketball (SR)
Senior Adrik Jenkin delivered an inspiring performance during Colfax’s championship run, scoring 19, 19, and 33 points across the Bulldogs’ three State Tournament games to help secure the State Championship. His standout week came in the days following the passing of his father, making his leadership and resilience even more remarkable as he helped lead Colfax to the title

ALLIE JENKIN – Colfax Basketball (FR)
Freshman Allie Jenkin delivered an incredible performance during Colfax’s postseason run, scoring 41 points in the opening round — including all 29 of her team’s points in that game — on the day of her father’s passing. She followed that with another standout effort in Spokane, scoring 19 of her team’s 30 points in the Round of 12, showing remarkable resilience and determination while leading her team on the court.
AMY NDUKA – Eastside Catholic Basketball (SO)
Sophomore Amy Nduka delivered a standout State Tournament performance, scoring 15, 23, and 23 points across Eastside Catholic’s three games. Her strong scoring helped lead the Crusaders to the program’s first-ever Girls Basketball State Championship.

NELLIE NICHOLLS – Cle Elum-Roslyn Basketball (JR)
Junior Nellie Nicholls delivered a dominant State Tournament performance, scoring 33, 27, and 21 points across three games to lead Cle Elum-Roslyn to its first State Basketball Championship in more than 30 years. Her scoring and leadership were instrumental in the Warriors’ historic title run.
FINLEY PARCHER – Lynden Basketball (JR)
Junior Finley Parcher played a key role in Lynden’s championship run, scoring 14, 21, and 17 points across the State Tournament games. Her performances helped lead the Lions to a perfect season, capped off with their third consecutive State Championship.
ADINA ALEX – Monroe Dance/Drill (SR)
KALEO ANDERSON – King’s Basketball (SR)
Senior Kaleo Anderson helped lead King’s to a first-round playoff victory over Lakeside, finishing with 21 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. His strong all-around performance propelled the Knights into the State Quarterfinals and played a key role in keeping their postseason run alive.
COOPER CARLSON – Wahkiakum Basketball (SR)
Senior Cooper Carlson helped lead Wahkiakum to two district victories this week, including a 63-60 win in the district championship. In the title game, Carlson recorded a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists, while also taking two charges and committing just one turnover from the point guard position. He also contributed 12 points and 8 assists in a district win over Taholah, playing a pivotal role in Wahkiakum’s successful postseason run.
JULIA GEORGE – Yakama Nation Basketball (SR)
Senior Julia George reached the 1,000-point milestone during her final season while earning First Team All-League honors. George has helped lead Yakama Nation Tribal School to the State Tournament for the second consecutive year, playing a key role in the team’s continued success.
CLOIE ISLEY – Valley Christian School Basketball (SR)
Senior Cloie Isley has served as a two-year team captain and has been a steady leader for Valley Christian, helping unite the team with her vision and leadership. She leads the team in scoring this season and surpassed the 1,000 career point milestone during the regular season. In a must-win game against Republic, Isley scored 19 points, including four three-pointers, to help secure Valley Christian’s first girls basketball State Tournament appearance in 24 years. A fierce competitor and selfless teammate, she consistently works to involve and elevate those around her on the court.
GRAYCIE KAST – Royal Basketball (JR)
Junior Graycie Kast delivered a strong performance in Royal’s opening round game, scoring 25 points to help lead the team in postseason action. Her scoring effort played a key role in setting the tone for Royal early in the tournament.
BAYLEE MALDONADO – Chiawana Basketball (SR)
Senior point guard Baylee Maldonado has been a key leader for Chiawana, averaging 17 points and 6 assists per game while limiting turnovers and consistently creating opportunities for her teammates. Her leadership has helped guide the Riverhawks to a perfect 24-0 record so far this season. Maldonado also excels in the classroom with a 3.7 GPA and will graduate this spring with both her high school diploma from Chiawana High School and an AA degree from Columbia Basin College through Running Start. She will continue her basketball career at Central Washington University.
AARON MATTHEWS – Bremerton Basketball (JR)
Junior Aaron Matthews played a key role in Bremerton’s run to the District 3 Championship, helping the team defeat Washington, Franklin Pierce, and Bainbridge Island. Over the three games, Matthews scored 32 points while averaging 9 rebounds and 8 assists, showcasing his team-first style and strong defensive presence. His performance helped propel Bremerton to its second consecutive district title and secure the No. 1 seed heading into the 2A State Tournament. Matthews was also named First Team All–Olympic League this week.

LANDEN NORTHROP – Richland Basketball (SR)
Senior Landen Northrop delivered a standout performance in Richland’s State Tournament opening round win, scoring 37 points to lead the Bombers to a 79-56 victory over Emerald Ridge. Northrop was lights out from beyond the arc, knocking down 9 of 15 three-point attempts in the dominant performance.
DEIDRA PHILLIPS – Prosser Basketball (SR)
Senior Deidra Phillips led Prosser to a first-round State Tournament victory with a dominant 30-point performance. Her scoring effort propelled the Mustangs to the win and secured their spot in the State Quarterfinals.

NIERRA SEBBERN – Timberline Dance/Drill (SR)
Senior Nierra Sebbern has been a dedicated member of the Timberline High School Dance Team for the past three years, growing into a confident performer and respected leader while serving as team captain. She has represented Timberline at the highest levels, competing at the State Championships and traveling with the team to the National Championships in Orlando, Florida. Most recently, Sebbern qualified for the National Dance Team Championships with her senior hip hop solo at the DTU Regional Dance Team Championships, where she earned first place against a strong field of competitors. Known for her grit, dedication, and positive leadership, Sebbern consistently leads by example while supporting her teammates both on and off the floor.
JACKSON WHITAKER – Liberty Basketball (SR)
Senior Jackson Whitaker delivered a remarkable performance in the highly competitive 3A District 2 Boys Basketball Tournament, scoring 105 points across three games against Eastside Catholic, Garfield, and Seattle Prep. Whitaker poured in 27 points against Eastside Catholic, followed by 35 in a win over Garfield, and capped the tournament with a 43-point performance in a winner-to-state game against Seattle Prep, sending Liberty to the 3A State Tournament for the second consecutive year and just the second time in school history. In addition to his on-court success, Whitaker demonstrates strong leadership and maintains a 3.6 cumulative GPA in the classroom.
AARON BELL – Issaquah Swimming & Diving (SR)
CARTER COX – Bainbridge Swimming & Diving (SR)
Senior Carter Cox delivered an outstanding performance at the 2A State Championships, winning the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly to earn Athlete of the Meet honors while setting a new Bainbridge High School record in the 100 butterfly. Cox also helped lead Bainbridge to its second consecutive Boys Swim & Dive State Championship, contributing to state titles in the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay. A USA Swimming Junior National qualifier, he will continue his academic and athletic career at the Division I level at Xavier University this fall.
DAKOTA KATZER – Jenkins Wrestling (SR)
Senior Dakota Katzer delivered one of the most dramatic finishes of the State Championships, avenging a one-point loss in the district finals with a thrilling rematch victory over Newport’s Gavin Carter in the state title match. Trailing by one point with just 12 seconds remaining, Katzer battled through the final exchange and secured a reversal with under a second to go to win the championship by one point, capping his season with a clutch and resilient performance.
JACKSON LOVATO – King’s Way Christian Basketball (SR)
Senior Jackson Lovato delivered a record-breaking performance in a district elimination game, scoring 41 points to set a new school record and keep King’s Way Christian’s season alive. In addition to his scoring outburst, Lovato added four assists and eight rebounds, leading his team with a complete and clutch performance when it mattered most.
MADISON MAGAÑA– Connell Wrestling (SO)
Sophomore Madison Magaña made history over the weekend, capturing the 105-pound State Championship to become Connell High School’s first-ever girls wrestling state champion. Magaña not only claimed the title as a sophomore, but also etched her name in school history with a groundbreaking performance that marks a milestone moment for Connell’s girls wrestling program.
KYLER MENZA – Washington Wrestling (SR)
Senior Kyler Menza captured the 2A Girls 105-pound 2026 State Championship, avenging a loss in the state finals the previous year to a nationally ranked opponent. With the victory, Menza became the first four-time state placer and first three-time state finalist in school history, while also earning her place as the fourth two-time state champion in program history.
BRYSTAL NEILSEN – Saint George’s School Basketball (JR)
Junior Brystal Neilsen has dominated throughout Saint George’s playoff run, averaging 28 points and 8 rebounds per game over the past week while leading the Dragons forward. She opened the stretch with 33 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks in a first-round win over Upper Columbia Academy, followed by 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks in a three-point loss to #1 seed Freeman. Most recently, Neilsen poured in 28 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in a third-round victory over Chewelah, continuing her outstanding postseason performance.
VINA NGUYEN – Hazen Wrestling (SR)
Senior Vina Nguyen capped off a stellar season by winning her second State Championship at Mat Classic XXXVII, claiming the 4A 105-pound Girls title. A Fargo All-American, Nguyen completed a perfect 52-0 campaign, earning individual championships at Gut Check and Braided 64 along the way to her dominant state title run.

MALIA OTTOW – Snohomish Wrestling (JR)
Junior Malia Ottow completed an undefeated season in dominant fashion, capturing her second 3A State Championship at Mat Classic. Ottow controlled the tournament from start to finish, solidifying her status as one of the top wrestlers in her classification.
RUBY STAN – Ballard Gymnastics (JR)
Junior Ruby Stan elevated her role this season from competing only vault at State as a freshman and sophomore to competing all-around and anchoring Ballard’s bars lineup. Senior Jalisca Holmgren continues to build a historic career for Cheney as a four-time state qualifier and the first girl in school history to compete and advance to the state tournament during her freshman year. Senior Jamison McCann delivered a historic playoff performance, scoring 40 points in a postseason victory over Aberdeen. Junior Remington Hewes captured his first career 3A District Championship at 126 pounds after battling through three tough matches-winning his opener in overtime, earning a semifinal pin, and then securing the title with a third-period pin in a back-and-forth championship bout against a longtime rival. Senior diver Makar Shnitko capped an undefeated dual meet season with his seventh first-place finish in as many meets and continued rewriting the Eastlake record books. Earlier this season, he set the school’s dual meet diving record with 304 points, and this week he established a new Eastlake boys 11-dive record with 426.10 points-currently the third-best mark in the state and No. 1 in 4A. After placing sixth as a sophomore and fourth as a junior at state, Shnitko is poised to continue his climb up the podium.

His all‑around play and defensive commitment have been instrumental as West Valley re‑enters league competition.
TYSON CANALES – Rochester Basketball (FR)
Freshman guard Tyson Canales exploded for 47 points in a non-league matchup against Hockinson on January 3rd. The 5’8″ standout showcased a complete scoring arsenal, finishing in transition, hitting mid-range jumpers, converting at the free throw line, and knocking down four three-pointers.
CAROLINE DEYOUNG – Rogers Gymnastics (SR)
At just the second gymnastics meet of the season, senior Caroline DeYoung delivered a standout all-around performance. She placed 1st on bars (8.9) and floor (9.4), 2nd on vault (8.8) and beam (9.0), and earned 1st place All-Around with a score of 36.10, a significant improvement from her 34.40 total in the season opener. Her early-season consistency and growth make her a top competitor to watch this year.
WYN EDWARDS – Kettle Falls Basketball (SO)
Sophomore Wyn Edwards powered Kettle Falls to a league win over St. George’s on January 6 with a dominant double-double performance. Edwards poured in 33 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, leading the way on both ends of the floor for the Bulldogs.
JAYLETH GONZALEZ – Kiona-Benton Wrestling (SR)
Senior Jayleth Gonzalez is putting together an outstanding season with a 19-5 record, including 18 pins and 1 major decision. She recently claimed 1st place at the Connell Invite and leads her team in both wins and pins. A team captain and role model, Jayleth leads with integrity, discipline, and a positive attitude, both on the mat and in the classroom. In addition to her wrestling success, she is also a dedicated student attending Tri-Tech’s culinary program.
ADALYNE MONTIEL – Toppenish Wrestling (SR)
Senior Adalyne Montiel is a 3-time State Champion and currently undefeated as she works toward her historic fourth state title. Competing at 110 lbs, Montiel is ranked 16th in the nation and is widely considered one of the top pound-for-pound wrestlers in Washington. Her dominant season includes championship titles at Gut Check, Lioness Invite, Winter Cup, and Hammerhead. Along the way, she’s defeated Oregon’s 2x state champion at 115, Washington’s reigning state champ at 110, and the No. 2 ranked wrestlers at both 110 and 115. A fierce competitor with unmatched drive, Adalyne continues to raise the bar at every tournament.
QUINTON MORRILL – Black Hills Basketball (SR)
Senior combo guard Quinton Morrill powered Black Hills to a key league win over W.F. West with a game-high 22 points, helping the Wolves pull away late in a hard-fought defensive battle. Known for his court awareness, hustle, and clutch scoring, Morrill sparked a critical second-half run, including seven straight points to put Black Hills back in front.
CAMILLE RICE – Selkirk Basketball (SO)
Sophomore Millie Rice led Selkirk to a league victory over Inchelium on January 6 with a standout shooting performance. Rice knocked down six three-pointers, went perfect from the free-throw line, and finished with 26 points, adding 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals. Her all-around effort on both ends of the floor showcased her growing impact and leadership as a sophomore.

RAKIN SHOWKI – Sammamish Basketball (SR)
Senior Rakin Showki has delivered an unbelievable scoring stretch for Sammamish, posting 55, 54, 31, and a school-record 61 points in his last four games. His 61-point explosion came in a 93-53 win over Lindbergh, cementing his place in program history. Averaging 35.9 points per game, Showki currently ranks #4 in the nation in scoring, putting together one of the most dominant individual seasons in the country.

Senior Jerome Toby Jr. reached a remarkable milestone on Saturday, surpassing 2,000 career points in a road matchup against #4-ranked Neah Bay. A four-year varsity starter and key leader for the defending 1B State Champions, Toby Jr. is powering Lummi Nation to a stellar 12-1-1 season. He currently leads the team in scoring (17.1 ppg), assists (6.2), and steals (3.5), showcasing his two-way impact and elite court vision.

She also shot an impressive 75% from the free throw line and 34% from beyond the arc. Her all-around performance and consistency continue to fuel ACH’s success this season.
SIMON JARRELL – Camas Wrestling (SR)
Senior Simon Jarrell is putting together a dominant senior season for Camas. He currently holds a 19-1 record and has been on a tear over the last two weeks, claiming first place at three major events: the Tri-State Tournament, the Tahoma Claws Out Invitational, and his second consecutive Pac Coast Championship.
ZOEY JASON – R.A. Long Bowling (FR)
Freshman Zoey Jason has made an immediate impact for the R.A. Long Lumberjills, stepping into the anchor role and helping lead her team to an 8-1 record and first place in league play. Over her last three matches, Zoey rolled impressive series of 432 (207-225), 402 (179-223), and 448 (224-224), averaging 216 over that stretch and 210 in league matches overall. Her poise, consistency, and leadership have stood out as a freshman competing at a high level.
DESIRAE JUAREZ – Southridge Wrestling (SR)
Southridge senior Desirae Juarez is off to a dominant start this season with an undefeated 18-0 record. Her impressive resume includes 10 pins, 2 major decisions, and 1 technical fall. Juarez has captured titles at four tournaments—Eastmont, Granger, Winter Cup, and M2—proving her elite status by defeating multiple returning state placers along the way. She won the Winter Cup with five state placers in her bracket and followed it up by winning the M2 tournament against a field that included four state placers.
PARKER LEITZ – Wahkiakum Basketball (SR)
Senior guard Parker Leitz put on a scoring clinic, pouring in 42 of Wahkiakum’s 73 points in a win over Orcas Island. His dominant offensive performance propelled the Mules to victory and showcased his ability to take over a game when it matters most.
FRANCISCO MEDINA – Grandview Basketball (SR)
Senior guard Francisco Medina made a major impact in his return from injury, leading Grandview to three big wins. At the Sundome Shootout in Yakima, he dropped 30 points and added 5 assists in a victory over Bainbridge Island. He followed that with 21 points and 10 assists against East Valley (Yakima), then capped the week with 21 points and a staggering 19 assists in a win over Toppenish. In that final game, Medina broke both the single-game and career assist records at Grandview, surpassing 492 career assists.
TANNER MORRIS – Raymond/South Bend Basketball (JR)
Junior forward Tanner Morris has been instrumental in Raymond/South Bend’s four-game win streak, delivering strong performances on both ends of the court. In Saturday’s narrow 3-point win over Naselle, Morris tallied 18 points and 14 rebounds, shooting 50% from the field and going 2-for-4 from three. Fourteen of his 18 points came in the second half when his team needed a spark. Known for his consistent hustle, positive attitude, and leadership, Morris continues to be a key contributor and motivator for his squad.
XAVIER OCHOA – Oak Harbor Basketball (SR)
Senior Xavier Ochoa delivered a pair of standout performances for Oak Harbor last week, showcasing his all-around game and leadership. In the first contest, he tallied 26 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals, dominating on both ends of the floor. He followed that up with 19 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals in the second game. Ochoa’s consistency, court vision, and defensive tenacity make him a complete player and a key contributor to his team’s success.

BETHANY QUEAHPAMA – White Swan Wrestling (SO)
Sophomore Bethany Queahpama is off to a dominant start this season, holding an undefeated 9-0 record. She captured individual titles at both the Warden Girls Invite and the Battle of the Crown tournament. A strong leader and role model, Bethany supports her teammates on and off the mat while excelling as a responsible, respectful, and hardworking student-athlete.
LILY RIECHELSON – Glacier Peak Basketball (SO)
Glacier Peak sophomore Lily Riechelson broke the school’s single-game scoring record with a 36-point performance against Olympia. A team captain and honor student, Riechelson is averaging 20 points per game with multiple double-doubles and has helped lead GP to a 7-3 start this season.
GAGE STUTESMAN – Montesano Wrestling (SR)
Montesano senior Gage Stutesman remains undefeated this season at 9-0, recently capturing the prestigious Hammerhead Tournament Championship. He tallied three pins, a technical fall, and a 6-1 decision in the final to secure the title, earning his 100th career win in the process. Along the way, he defeated three ranked wrestlers from higher classifications and boasts an 89% bonus point rate on the year. A team captain and leader on and off the mat, Gage also represented Team Washington at the National Duals this summer.
MARIANNA AGAPITH – Inchelium Basketball (SO)
Marianna Agapith delivered a standout performance in Inchelium’s game against Northport on December 16, scoring 35 points. She went 12-for-27 from the field, including an impressive 6-of-7 from beyond the arc and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. She also added 7 assists, 3 steals, and 3 rebounds, contributing across the board.
PEYTON CANNON – Pomeroy Wrestling (SR)
Peyton Cannon delivered a dominant performance on Senior Recognition Day, earning three pins in three matches to take 1st place individually and help lead the Pomeroy Pirates to a team title. Voted one of two “Outstanding Wrestlers” of the tournament by the coaches, Cannon showcased both skill and leadership.
JACK VAHEY – Northwest Christian Basketball (SR)
Jack Vahey etched his name into the Northwest Christian record books with a 47-point performance in a 70-34 win over Crescent on December 19, setting a new single-game scoring record for the school. Through the first six games of the season, Vahey has recorded four double-doubles and is averaging 25.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
GARRETT TURNER – Marysville Pilchuck Wrestling (SR)
Garrett Turner capped off a standout season for Marysville Pilchuck by placing 8th at the State Championships. The senior set a new school record for wins in a single season and added to his résumé with a 7th-place finish at the prestigious Pac Coast Tournament. Turner is a two-time district finalist and a former district champion, closing out his high school career as one of the program’s most accomplished wrestlers.
KADEN CHRISTMAN – Lake Roosevelt Wrestling (JR)
Kaden Christman has put together an impressive 13–0 start to the season while competing in both the 126 and 132 lb. weight classes. His undefeated record includes 8 pins, 2 technical falls, 2 decisions, and a forfeit. Christman captured titles at the Ocosta Invite, Connell Invitational, and PowerHouse Tournament, and also earned two dual wins via pin against Okanogan.
SENECA LUCAS – West Seattle Basketball (JR)
Seneca Lucas delivered a dominant all-around performance on December 23 against Nathan Hale, racking up 34 points and 11 assists to lead West Seattle. Lucas knocked down six three-pointers and showcased elite court vision, creating constant matchup problems and elevating teammates throughout the night. With efficient perimeter shooting and unselfish playmaking, Lucas controlled the game’s tempo from start to finish.
ROCHELLE OBARE – Mountlake Terrace Wrestling (SR)
Rochelle Obare is the heart of Mountlake Terrace Wrestling, leading both on and off the mat. A returning state contender, she’s gained attention from college coaches thanks to her aggressive style and impressive results, including wins over top Oregon wrestlers and a narrow loss to a Washington State Finalist this past summer. But Rochelle’s impact goes far beyond competition: as team captain, she’s coached up five first-time wrestlers who impressed immediately in their debut match.
JANELLE RAMONES – Peninsula Bowling (SR)
Janelle Ramones is a four-year letterwinner and the heartbeat of the Peninsula bowling team. Averaging a 171 this season, the senior captain leads with positivity, consistency, and poise. Known for her upbeat attitude and steady leadership, Janelle sets the tone for her teammates both on and off the lanes.
NOAH STILLMAN – Walla Walla Swimming & Diving (SR)
At the December 20 meet at Whitman College, Noah Stillman delivered a record-breaking performance for Walla Walla. He shattered a school record in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 51.06, surpassing a mark set by a 2003 State runner-up, and posted the top time submitted across all classifications this season. Stillman also won the 100 Backstroke and led off the victorious 400 Freestyle Relay, clocking times within a second of additional State qualifying standards.

ANNIKA HASTINGS – Kamiak Basketball (SO)
Kamiak sophomore Annika Hastings delivered a dominant all-around performance in a 59-44 win over Everett, finishing with 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 steals. She shot a perfect 100% from the field and 62.5% from three-point range, showcasing both efficiency and versatility. Hastings continues to be a force on both ends of the court and a key contributor to the Knights’ early season success.
HOKULANI MOSE – Curtis Flag Football (SR)
Curtis senior Hokulani Mose delivered a dominant week across four games, putting up video game-like numbers against Bonney Lake, Peninsula, Gig Harbor, and Graham-Kapowsin. Mose passed for 17 touchdowns, rushed for 3 more, and made her presence felt on defense with 3 interceptions, one returned for a touchdown, and a total of 37 flag pulls. A true dual-threat and defensive force, Hokulani continues to lead Curtis with excellence on both sides of the ball.
MARISOL BAZANTE – Sedro-Woolley Wrestling (SR)
Despite a late start to the season, Sedro-Woolley senior Marisol Bazante made a dominant return to the mat. She won both matches in a double dual against Bellingham and Blaine-including one while wrestling up a weight class-before going 3-0 with all pins to claim 1st place at 155 pounds at the Roll in the Swamp Tournament at Decatur High School.
PIERCE BIERLINK – Quincy Basketball (SR)
Pierce Bierlink etched his name into Quincy history on Saturday, December 22, becoming the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,725 career points and counting. The milestone came in a matchup against Othello and marks a great achievement for the senior.
JACOB CHROMEY – La Center Wrestling (FR)
Freshman Jacob Chromey remains undefeated this season in the 165-pound weight class. At the Three Rivers Classic hosted by Mark Morris, Chromey pinned two opponents-including in the championship match-to claim first place. He has secured bonus points for La Center in 10 of his 12 matches this season, making an immediate impact.
MARTIN DEMCHENKO – Skyline Wrestling (SR)
Skyline senior Martin Demchenko had a dominant week on the mat. He opened with a dual meet pin over a 2025 state qualifier, then went 4-0 to win the CovTown Throwdown at Kentlake High School. His tournament run included three pins and a technical fall in the finals, defeating two more previous state qualifiers along the way. Martin now holds a perfect 9-0 record with seven pins on the season.
RYLEE EMERICK – Graham-Kapowsin Flag Football (SR)
Senior quarterback Rylee Emerick led Graham-Kapowsin to two wins this week, throwing for 8 touchdowns and adding another on the ground. A two-way player, she also made a major defensive impact playing both safety and linebacker with numerous flag pulls. Off the field, Rylee is a 4-year band member and carries a 3.9 GPA.
SHAYLEN KAST – Moses Lake Christian Academy Basketball (FR)
Freshman Shaylen Kast continues to shine for Moses Lake Christian Academy. In two standout performances last week, she posted 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals against Bridgeport, then followed with 28 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 steals to lead her team to a 39-38 win over Warden in the Christmas Tournament Championship. Through seven games, Shaylen is averaging 21.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
AALIYAH KENNEDY – Hoquiam Basketball (SO)
Sophomore Aaliyah Kennedy turned in a dominant performance on December 18, leading Hoquiam to a 63-42 win over 2A Centralia with 23 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals, and 4 blocks. Across three games last week, Kennedy totaled 55 points, 26 rebounds, and 5 steals, continuing to be a force on both ends of the court for the Grizzlies.
GRADY STUVLAND – Darrington Basketball (JR)
Junior Grady Stuvland delivered back-to-back standout performances to lead Darrington to two victories last week. He scored 32 points in a win over Cedar Park Christian and followed it up with 37 points against Clallam Bay, showcasing his scoring ability and consistency on the court.
TEV UTTECH – Chelan Basketball (JR)
Junior Tev Uttech delivered back-to-back double-doubles to lead Chelan to a pair of wins last week. In a 76-45 victory over Brewster, Uttech racked up 30 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 blocks, and 3 steals in just three quarters, shooting 73.3% from the field. He followed it up with 25 points and 13 rebounds on 66.7% shooting in a 72-53 win over Colville. Across the two games, he totaled 55 points, 29 rebounds, and shot 70.4% from the field, including 57.1% from beyond the arc.
ZOEY VAN GORDON – Port Angeles Bowling (SR)
A four-year varsity standout and two-year team captain, Zoey Van Gordon has demonstrated impressive resilience and growth throughout her high school bowling career. After switching to right-handed bowling due to injury her junior year, she raised her average by 30 pins. Now back to her dominant left hand, Zoey carries a 170 average and recently placed 6th at the Olympic League Tournament. She has signed to continue her academic and athletic career at the College of St. Mary in Nebraska.

CHASYN WATERS – Reardan Basketball (SO)
Chasyn Waters has been a force for the 5-1 Reardan Screaming Eagles. Over four games last week, the sophomore averaged 17 points per game while shooting an efficient 53% from the field (26/49) and 78% from the free throw line (14/18). She also tallied 31 rebounds (11 offensive), 17 assists, and 18 steals, showcasing her impact on both ends of the court.
ALANA ZAVALA – Mabton Basketball (SR)
Mabton senior Alana Zavala made history this week, becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer-surpassing both the girls’ record of 1,733 points (set in 1982) and the boys’ record of 1,812 (set in 2016). A varsity athlete since 8th grade, Zavala reached the 1,000-point milestone as a sophomore and is now well on her way to 2,000.
XAVIER ESPINOZA – Elma Wrestling (SR)
Senior Xavier Espinoza continues to dominate on the mat as a reigning state champion and three-time state finalist. This past weekend, he surpassed the 100-career-win milestone and is currently ranked No. 1 in the state. Espinoza’s consistency, competitiveness, and championship pedigree have solidified him as one of Washington’s premier wrestlers.
JAYDA GUADRON – Emerald Ridge Girls Flag Football (SR)
Senior Jayda Guadron, a third-year standout in the program and reigning SPSL MVP, has been on an incredible run this past week. Playing in five games over five days, Guadron totaled 16 receiving touchdowns, showcasing her elite playmaking ability and endurance.
AVERY KETTMAN – Squalicum Basketball (FR)
Freshman Avery Kettman led Squalicum with 24 points on efficient 10-of-17 shooting and added seven rebounds in the Storm’s matchup against Burlington on Dec. 8. Her scoring touch and presence on the glass highlighted a strong performance from the first-year standout.
HUDSON LINDSAY – Concordia Christian Academy Basketball (SR)
Senior captain Hudson Lindsay has been a driving force behind Concordia Christian Academy’s 3-1 start, averaging a double-double with 24.3 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Through four contests, Lindsay has recorded three double-doubles and totaled 97 points.
KAYLEE MALDONADO – Chiawana Basketball (FR)
Freshman Kaylee Maldonado delivered an outstanding two-game stretch against Walla Walla and Hermiston, showcasing efficiency and poise well beyond her years. She shot an impressive 20-of-28 from the field (72%), went a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line, and knocked down 7-of-11 three-pointers (64%).
MICHAEL MASINI – Gig Harbor Basketball (SR)
Senior Michael Masini delivered an outstanding week for Gig Harbor, recording two double-doubles with 21 points and 12 rebounds against Capital and 31 points and 11 rebounds versus Lincoln. He also posted 24 points and 9 rebounds in a tough road matchup at Lakes, leading all scorers for the sixth consecutive game.
GENESIS MILLER – Kentridge Girls Flag Football (SR)
Senior Genesis Miller delivered an incredible all-around performance in a doubleheader against Enumclaw and Thomas Jefferson on Dec. 13, accounting for 13 total touchdowns. In the opener against Enumclaw, she was involved in all seven touchdowns — throwing for three, rushing for three, and catching one. She followed that with a dominant showing against Thomas Jefferson, throwing two touchdown passes, rushing for two scores, and adding two pick-sixes on defense.
KATE BEARDSLEE – Northport Basketball (SO)
Sophomore Kate Beardslee continued her strong play last week, averaging 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists across three games to help Northport improve to 6-0 on the season. Her all-around performance included a statement win over 1A Medical Lake, as she played a key role in keeping the Mustangs undefeated.
KYLI MEYER – Ballard Basketball (JR)
Junior Kyli Meyer delivered a dominant all-around performance against Holy Names Academy on December 5, recording a near triple-double with 33 points, 10 rebounds, 9 steals, and 4 blocks in Ballard’s 62-36 victory. Her two-way impact powered the Beavers on both ends of the floor and set the tone in a decisive win.

LANDON SHORT – Republic Basketball (SO)
Sophomore Landon Short reached the 1,000-career-point milestone just six games into his sophomore season, doing so in emphatic fashion on Dec. 13 against Columbia. Short poured in 42 points in the first half while shooting an efficient 77% from the field, propelling Republic to a 97-30 victory. His historic 1,000th point came on a two-hand slam in the closing seconds of the first half, punctuating a dominant performance.
MCKENNA TORREY – Adna Basketball (JR)
Junior Mckenna Torrey has made an immediate impact early in the season, totaling 41 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 7 steals across two games – the most in the C2BL among girls players so far. Her all-around production has set the standard in league play and highlights her value on both ends of the court.
NEVELYN WILSON – Pateros Basketball (FR)
Freshman Nevelyn Wilson delivered back-to-back standout performances for Pateros, leading the Nannies in both contests. She opened the week with 19 points and 13 rebounds, then followed with 16 points and 11 rebounds, recording double-doubles in each game.
KAI BRINKLEY – Woodinville Girls Flag Football (JR)
Junior running back Kai Brinkley powered Woodinville to a 4-0 start with four dominant performances on the ground. In the season opener, she rushed 8 times for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns against Everett, followed by 83 yards on 7 carries against Cascade. Brinkley continued her strong play in Saturday’s doubleheader, posting 153 yards on 12 carries against Monroe and exploding for 158 yards and 4 touchdowns on just 10 carries against Jackson. Through four games, she has amassed 562 total yards from scrimmage and 7 touchdowns.
JALEN DAVIS – Bremerton Basketball (JR)
Junior Jalen Davis opened the season with two historic performances for Bremerton. In the Knights’ season opener on Dec. 2, Davis scored 51 points, setting a new single-game school scoring record (breaking the previous mark of 48 held by D’Angelo Moore). Just four days later, on Dec. 6, Davis added 36 points in a win over Oakland – a performance that pushed him past Bremerton’s all-time career scoring record, previously held by NBA veteran Marvin Williams (1,527 points). Davis broke the record only two games into his junior season and now sits at 1,557 career points and counting.
JULIANA GOCHA – Lakes Basketball (FR)
Freshman Juliana Gocha made a stunning varsity debut, recording a double-double in Lakes’ 78–35 win over Central Kitsap. She filled the stat sheet with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals, and a block-an all-around performance that showcased her immediate impact at the high school level.
KENNEDY KINARD – Sammamish Girls Flag Football (FR)
Freshman Kennedy Kinard has made an immediate impact, helping lead Sammamish to its first-ever wins in program history and a 2–0 start. In just two games, she delivered an incredible two-way performance, returning three interceptions for touchdowns, adding two rushing touchdowns, and leading the team in total rushing yards.
PARKER LOWE – Kittitas Basketball (JR)
Junior point guard Parker Lowe turned in a standout performance for Kittitas, posting 27 points, 5 assists, and 6 steals in a December 2 win over Columbia-Burbank. A 4.0 GPA student, Lowe exemplifies leadership on and off the court.
TESS McCANN – Gonzaga Prep Cheer (JR)
Junior captain Teresa “Tess” McCann has been a driving force in elevating Gonzaga Prep’s cheer program-both on the sidelines and in launching the school’s first-ever competitive Game Day team. Her honesty, initiative, and problem-solving skills have set a high standard for the program, and her leadership has helped unite teammates and coaches around a shared vision.
LANCE MCGEE – Sumner Football (SR)
McGee had 365 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns leading Sumner to back-to-back 4A State titles with a massive performance. McGee also had a 5 touchdown game in the State Semifinal, putting together 11 TDs over the final 2 weeks of the season.

Senior Ryen McMillin powered Jenkins to a 2–0 start with dominant two-way performances in the Cougars’ season openers. Offensively, he averaged 20.5 points and 3 assists per game, while defensively he controlled the interior with 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 3.5 steals per contest – consistently altering shots, tipping passes, and disrupting possessions throughout Saturday’s game.
MIA NIELSEN – Capital Basketball (SR)
Senior Mia Nielsen opened the season with a dominant first week, averaging 31 points and 2 steals per game. She broke her own single-game scoring record of 37 points with a spectacular 49-point performance against Steilacoom on December 3, 2025 – one of the top scoring outings in the state so far this season.
AUDRINA PANNELL – The Bear Creek School Basketball (FR)
Freshman Audrina Pannell delivered a stunning breakout performance in just her second high school game, recording a triple-double with 44 points, 13 steals, and 10 rebounds to lead Bear Creek to a win over conference rival Overlake. Her all-around dominance showcased her scoring ability, defensive instincts, and impact on the boards-an early statement from one of the state’s most exciting young players.
KYLER SKOGSTAD – Bellevue Christian Basketball (SO)
Sophomore Kyler Skogstad opened the season with a stellar first week, helping Bellevue Christian start 2–0. He posted 17 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds in a 53-45 win over Cedar Park Christian, then erupted for 35 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists in a 66-49 victory over University Prep.
DANIEL TROTENYA – Kennewick Basketball (SR)
Senior Daniel Trotenya put together an extraordinary week for Kennewick, highlighted by a massive 48-point, 21-rebound performance in a 95-92 triple-overtime win against Moses Lake, where he also knocked down the clinching free throws. The following night, Trotenya again led all scorers with 22 points and added 12 rebounds in a hard-fought 58-50 road matchup at Central Valley. His dominant scoring and rebounding have been central to the Lions’ early-season success.
BRODY AUST – Willapa Valley Basketball (JR)
Junior Brody Aust opened his season with a dominant performance, scoring 33 points while adding 8 rebounds and 2 assists to lead Willapa Valley.
KALI BLACK – Moses Lake Cheer (SR)
Senior Kali Black is a versatile and dynamic leader for the back-to-back coed state champion Moses Lake Cheer team. A flyer, tumbler, dancer, and sideline standout, Black brings energy and precision to every performance. She excels in one-foot stunts and high-level spins, and she nailed one of the most difficult stunts in the state routine this season.
ISAIAH ENGLUND – Auburn Basketball (JR)
Junior Isaiah Englund opened the season with a game-high 28 points, leading Auburn to an 87–74 win over Renton in the Trojans’ season opener. His strong offensive performance set the tone for Auburn’s early momentum.
ALI FRANK – Liberty Girls Flag Football (SR)
Senior Ali Frank made history in the inaugural WIAA girls flag football game, recording four catches for 41 yards — including the game-winning touchdown. Her clutch play helped Liberty secure the first victory in WIAA girls flag football history.
HENRY GABALIS – Archbishop Murphy Football (SR)
Senior wide receiver Henry Gabalis delivered a dominant performance in Archbishop Murphy’s 59–17 State semifinal win over Anacortes, turning three of his receptions into long touchdowns from 75, 37, and 41 yards, sending the Wildcats to Husky Stadium.
JARRETT GARZA – Tri-Cities Prep Football (SR)
Senior quarterback and defensive back Jarrett Garza helped lead Tri-Cities Prep to the state championship game, throwing a key touchdown in the Jaguars’ 34–28 win over Adna.
DAX JENKS – Royal Football (JR)
Junior Dax Jenks delivered a dominant two-way performance in Royal’s semifinal win over Lynden Christian. Offensively, he rushed 22 times for 226 yards and five touchdowns and added three receptions for 56 yards. On defense, Jenks led the team with nine tackles, including a tackle for loss, and contributed a 20-yard kickoff return — the longest of the day for the Knights. His all-around impact powered Royal into the state championship game.
MEAGAN JOHNSON – Bethel Cheer (SR)
Senior Meagan Johnson is a standout leader for Bethel, contributing on both the Bison sideline and competition cheer teams as a back spot and base. A multi-sport athlete in softball and wrestling, Johnson excels academically as well, maintaining a 4.0 GPA through both Running Start and Bethel High School.
SHAN JONES – Mount Tahoma Football (SR)
Senior defensive back Shan Jones came up with two critical interceptions in the semifinal win over Eastside Catholic, helping send Mount Tahoma to its first state championship game in over 40 years.
TEVITA NONU – O’Dea Football (JR)
Junior defender Tevita Nonu delivered the play of the game in the state semifinal, forcing a red-zone strip sack late in the fourth quarter to secure O’Dea’s victory and send the Fighting Irish back to the state championship game, where they will attempt to defend their title.
VALENTINA SOLTERO – Soap Lake Cheer (SO)
Sophomore Valentina Soltero is an exceptional cheerleader whose dedication, positivity, and perseverance set her apart. Always willing to take on challenging skills, Soltero pushes herself to improve while remaining highly coachable and self-aware — using her strengths and areas for growth to elevate both herself and her teammates. As a key member of Soap Lake’s small competition group aiming for a state berth, Soltero brings contagious energy and unwavering encouragement to every practice and performance. She has also begun emerging as a strong sideline leader, stepping confidently into roles soon to be vacated by graduating upperclassmen.
TYLER VENABLE – Black Hills Basketball (JR)
Junior Tyler Venable opened the season with a dominant week, leading Black Hills to a 2–0 start with wins over Yelm and R.A. Long. Across the two games, Venable totaled 73 points, 17 steals, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds. She delivered a historic performance against R.A. Long, scoring 39 points to set a new Black Hills single-game scoring record.
BROOKE BERENS – Crosspoint Christian Soccer (SR)
Senior captain Brooke Berens delivered clutch performances to lead Crosspoint Christian to the 1B/2B State Championship, scoring the opening goal in the semifinal and the lone goal in the final to secure the title. The SeaTac League MVP pairs her on-field excellence with outstanding academics — she is part of the Wildcats’ five-time Academic State Champion team, and is active in National Honor Society and student leadership.
JABEZ BOYD – Life Christian Academy Football (SR)
Senior quarterback Jabez Boyd delivered a phenomenal playoff performance against Nooksack Valley on November 15, completing 35 of 42 passes (83%) for 504 yards and five touchdowns. He also contributed on defense with three tackles, an interception, and a forced fumble.
BRIGID DINNEN – East Valley Swimming & Diving (SR)
Senior Brigid Dinnen closed out her high school career in dominant fashion, winning both the 100- and 50-yard freestyle titles at the state meet. Dinnen is a rare four-year state champion, earning titles in:

Her consistency, speed, and championship pedigree have made her one of East Valley’s most decorated swimmers ever.
LAURA EICHERT – Lake Stevens Volleyball (SR)
Senior Laura Eichert delivered a historic performance in the 4A State Championship match, recording 44 kills to lead Lake Stevens to a dramatic comeback victory. After falling behind 0–2, Eichert powered the Vikings to a 3–2 win and the state title, cementing one of the most dominant championship performances in tournament history.
AINSLEE ELLIS – Blaine Bowling (SR)
Senior Ainslee Ellis broke her own Blaine School District record for highest single-game pin total, rolling a 202 to surpass her previous mark of 174. Her record-setting performance helped lift Blaine to a key victory over Anacortes and highlighted her continued growth and consistency on the lanes.
MADDOX FILAN – DeSales Football (SR)
Senior Maddox Filan delivered a huge performance to help DeSales reach the state semifinals for the first time since 2009. He caught 13 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns in the Irish’s 58-24 win over Neah Bay, playing a central role in the team’s offensive surge.
CODY GASSELING – East Valley Football (SR)
Senior Cody Gasseling stepped up in a critical moment to help East Valley reach its first state semifinal since 2004. Filling in for the starting running back, Gasseling rushed 16 times for 126 yards and two touchdowns and added a 31-yard touchdown reception in a 27–24 comeback win over Lynden. Defensively, he delivered multiple key run-stopping tackles to help slow the Lions’ ground attack. Gasseling’s two-way impact was instrumental in sending the Red Devils to the semifinals.
RYAN HARRINGTON – Anacortes Football (JR)
Junior quarterback Ryan Harrington delivered a dominant performance in the state quarterfinals, completing 24 of 28 passes for 403 yards and four touchdowns to lead Anacortes past previously undefeated Orting. His standout effort sends the Seahawks into a highly anticipated rematch with top-seeded Archbishop Murphy.
AMERYIA JOHNSON – Tahoma Soccer (SO)
Sophomore Ameriya Johnson delivered in the biggest moment of the season, scoring both goals in Tahoma’s state semifinal win over Skyview to send the Bears to the championship match. Her clutch performance helped propel Tahoma into the state final.
BEAU MILLER – Adna Football (JR)
Junior running back Beau Miller powered Adna to a 42–32 quarterfinal upset over No. 2 and previously undefeated Newport, rushing 37 times for 232 yards and three touchdowns. He sealed the win with a clutch 15-yard score on 4th-and-5 with 1:31 remaining after breaking a tackle in the backfield.
SEAN RUSSELL – Mount Vernon Christian Soccer (SR)
Senior captain Sean Russell closed out his high school career with a standout state tournament run, recording three goals and an assist to help Mount Vernon Christian secure 3rd place at the 1B/2B State Championships. Russell scored the equalizer in the semifinal against St. George’s and converted his penalty in the shootout.
In the third-place match against Evergreen Lutheran, he opened the scoring with a composed finish from the top of the box, added a 30-yard assist, and capped the Hurricanes’ offense with a header goal off a corner kick. Russell finished the postseason with six goals in five playoff matches and totaled 27 goals on the season, anchoring MVC’s attack throughout the year.
BELLA SEIDENSTUCKER – Mount Si Soccer (SO)
Sophomore outside back Bella Seidenstucker delivered two of the biggest goals in Mount Si history, scoring the double-overtime game winner in the 4A State Semifinal to upset No. 1 Issaquah, 2–1, and adding another goal in the state final to help secure the Wildcats’ first-ever 4A State Championship. Beloved by her teammates and respected for her work ethic and heart, Seidenstucker played a critical role on both sides of the ball throughout Mount Si’s title run.
MAX ASSINK – Lynden Football (SR)
Senior captain Max Assink made an immediate impact in his return from a broken collarbone, helping Lynden advance to the Elite 8 for the seventh straight year. In his first game back, Assink rushed for 169 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries (9 yards per carry) while adding four tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble on defense. A three-year starter, he continues to set the tone for the Lions with his toughness and leadership.
ADDISON CARTER – Snohomish Soccer (SR)
Senior goalkeeper Addison Carter delivered three shutout victories in the District 1 Tournament to lead Snohomish to the championship title. In the final, she swung the momentum with a crucial in-game penalty-kick save, helping the Panthers secure a 2-0 win over Shorewood. Carter has allowed just eight goals in 19 matches this season and has recorded an impressive 15 shutouts, anchoring one of the top defenses in the state.
BRISA GAO – Lakeside Swimming & Diving (SR)
Senior Brisa Gao won the 200 IM at the state meet with an All-American Automatic time of 2:01.07, the 8th-fastest 200 IM ever swam at the WIAA State Championships. Her elite performance capped an outstanding season and solidified her place among the top swimmers in the state.
GRAYCIE GRAHAM – Clarkston Swimming & Diving (SR)
Senior Graycie Graham capped another outstanding season by winning the 50 Adaptive Freestyle at the state meet for the third consecutive year and placing third in the 50 Adaptive Backstroke. In her three years competing at state for Clarkston, Graham has finished in the top three every time, earning five individual state titles. Her hard work, dedication, and positive leadership continue to shine in and out of the pool, making her a standout representative of the Bantams.
ROBERT GUDMUNDSON – Cedarcrest Golf (SR)
Senior Robert Gudmundson put together an exceptional postseason run, winning the KingCo 2A Boys Championship and earning Golfer of the Year honors. He followed with a Medalist 1st Place finish at the SeaKing 2A Tournament, helping lead Cedarcrest to the team title and securing his spot at the State Tournament in May.
HAILEY HERBOTH – Seton Catholic Soccer (SR)
Senior captain Hailey Herboth has been the driving force behind Seton Catholic’s postseason run, leading with heart, maturity, and outstanding on-field play. Her precise corner kicks and consistent two-way impact have helped lift the Cougars into the state semifinals. In the district playoffs, Herboth helped spark a dramatic comeback win over Montesano that was secured in penalty kicks, and in the state quarterfinals she scored the lone goal to send Seton Catholic through to the final four.
SEBASTIAN SANCHEZ – Entiat Football (SR)
Senior captain Sebastian Sanchez delivered back-to-back standout performances to propel Entiat into the 1B State Playoffs. In Thursday’s 28–22 win over Bridgeport, Sanchez dominated defensively from his middle linebacker spot with 18 tackles, two tackles for loss, and two interceptions, both returned for touchdowns (93 and 68 yards). He added 120 all-purpose yards on offense, including a 46-yard touchdown reception from the backfield. Sanchez followed up on Saturday by leading Entiat through two league tiebreaker mini-games, recording 13 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, and 97 all-purpose yards with another touchdown. His leadership and two-way impact were instrumental in securing the Tigers’ postseason berth.
AVERY SELEY – Columbia River Volleyball (SR)
Senior captain and starting setter Avery Seley delivered an exceptional postseason run for Columbia River, helping lead the Rapids to a 3rd-place finish at the 2A State Tournament. Across the tournament, Seley totaled 120 assists, 10 kills, 25 digs, 7 blocks, and 6 aces. She recorded 44 assists in the quarterfinal win over Selah, her fourth match this season with 40+ assists, and now holds Columbia River’s all-time school record for career assists. Seley also posted 40 assists in the three-set District 4 Championship win over Tumwater. Across Columbia River’s three district tournament matches (nine total sets), she tallied 86 assists, 11 digs, 2 kills, and 7 aces.
ELI WEEKS – Toledo Football (SR)
Senior Eli Weeks opened Toledo’s state tournament game with three consecutive touchdowns, a 17-yard rushing score, a pick-six, and a 57-yard touchdown pass. He finished the night with 393 total yards, completing 8 of 11 passes for 279 yards, adding 77 rushing yards, and accounting for five total touchdowns in a standout postseason performance.
HAILEY WEILER – Kennedy Catholic Swimming & Diving (SR)
Senior Hailey Weiler won all four of her events at the WIAA 4A State Championships, breaking her own school record in the 100 freestyle and earning Athlete of the Meet honors for the second time in her career. Weiler played a pivotal role in helping Kennedy Catholic secure its second consecutive team state title. She will continue her swimming career next year on athletic scholarship with the USC Trojans.
GAGE WILLIAMS – Chiawana Football (SR)
Senior Gage Williams delivered a strong two-way performance for Chiawana, scoring four touchdowns while rushing for 91 yards on nine carries. Defensively, he added 11 tackles, one sack, and a pass deflection, showcasing his impact on both sides of the ball.
ISAAC ZAVALA – Cashmere Football (SR)
Senior Isaac Zavala returned a 40-yard punt for a touchdown, his fourth punt return TD of the season and the 11th of his high school career, setting a new all-time Washington state record. Zavala was voted First Team All-League (Utility) and has scored 15 total touchdowns this season: 3 rushing, 6 receiving, 6 punt returns, and 2 kickoff returns. His versatility and dynamic impact across all phases make him a standout deserving of statewide recognition.
JAEGER BRASHEARS – Wilbur-Creston-Keller Football (SO)
Sophomore running back and linebacker Jaeger Brashears powered Wilbur-Creston-Keller to a 64-26 win over Waitsburg in the District 6 crossover, sending the Wildcats back to the state playoffs. Brashears totaled 306 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns, rushing for 238 yards and five scores on 31 carries while adding four receptions for 68 yards and another touchdown. On defense, he contributed 12 tackles (five solo, seven assisted), capping a dominant two-way performance.
CASSIE BROOKS – West Valley Volleyball (SR)
Senior outside hitter Cassie Brooks led No. 2–seeded West Valley to a dominant district playoff run, sweeping No. 3 Clarkston before powering the Eagles to the District 6 2A championship. In the title match, Brooks recorded 17 kills on .368 hitting, 17 digs, and a 2.3 serve-receive rating in a win over top-seeded Pullman. Her leadership on and off the court has been central to West Valley’s success and their berth in the 2A State Tournament.
PIERCE ENGLISH – Saint George’s Soccer (SR)
Senior goalkeeper Pierce English delivered a clutch performance to secure the District Championship for Saint George’s, converting the game-winning penalty kick and then making the decisive save in the 10th round of the shootout. Over the season, English recorded 10 shutouts and allowed only eight goals in 17 matches. He was also voted Keeper of the Year by league coaches for the 2025 season.
TESSA HURGUY – South Kitsap Swimming & Diving (FR)
Freshman Tessa Hurguy has won every individual event she has raced this season, and she continued her dominance at the WCD III 4A Championships Oct. 31–Nov. 1. In prelims, Hurguy posted personal bests in both the 200 IM (2:06.13) and 500 freestyle (5:00.61), breaking South Kitsap school records in each. She then lowered both marks in finals, winning district titles in the 200 IM (2:04.68) and 500 free (4:58.25). Hurguy also helped South Kitsap qualify for state in the 200 freestyle relay — the program’s first girls relay state berth in many years.
CHANNING KLEINE – Friday Harbor Football (JR)
Junior captain and wide receiver Channing Kleine delivered a huge all-around performance, catching 17 passes for 273 yards, one touchdown, and a two-point conversion. He added 25 rushing yards and a score on four carries, returned a kick for 30 yards, and finished with 328 all-purpose yards while contributing five tackles on defense. Kleine closed his season with 61 receptions for 831 yards (92.3 per game) and 11 total touchdowns-
QUENTON LANESE – Olympia Cross Country (FR)
Freshman Quenton Lanese delivered a remarkable performance at the 4A State Championships, placing 2nd overall with the second-fastest time across all classifications. His finish capped an extraordinary debut season at the high school level.
CLARE LARGENT – Enumclaw Soccer (SR)
Senior Clare Largent delivered when it mattered most, scoring all three goals in Enumclaw’s 3-2 elimination-game victory to send the Hornets to the State Tournament. Largent capped her hat trick with the game-winner in the second overtime, lifting Enumclaw in a win-or-go-home matchup and securing their postseason berth.
HANNA NELSON – Waterville-Mansfield Volleyball (SR)
Senior standout Hanna Nelson powered Waterville-Mansfield to its third straight district championship with dominant performances in both postseason matches. In the semifinal win over Pateros, she tallied 18 kills, 2 blocks, 4 aces, and 14 digs. In the district title match against Soap Lake, Nelson added 17 kills, 4 blocks, an ace, and 5 digs to secure another championship trophy. A two-time league MVP and multi-sport recruit, Nelson continues to anchor the program with her skill, leadership, and consistency.
SOPHIA RODRIGUEZ – Mercer Island Cross Country (JR)
Junior Sophia Rodriguez won her third consecutive state title, running 17:24 to take the 3A crown and lead Mercer Island to the girls team championship. Her dominant performance capped another standout season for one of the state’s top distance runners.
KYRSTIN TIMOTHY – Cascade Christian Cross Country (SR)
Senior captain Kyrstin Timothy has been a standout leader and competitor for Cascade Christian throughout her four years on varsity. A three-time state qualifier, Timothy won the 2025 District 3 1A Championship and closed her senior season with an impressive 5th-place finish at the WIAA State Championships.
CHACE WEBSTER – Olympic Football (SR)
Senior running back Chace Webster powered Olympic to a district playoff win over Chief Sealth with a dominant performance, rushing for 331 yards and four touchdowns. He has now surpassed 2,100 rushing yards on the season and has scored an incredible 38 touchdowns, continuing to be one of the state’s most explosive offensive threats.
OLIVER ZIMMERMAN – Cedar Park Christian Cross Country (SO)
Sophomore Oliver Zimmerman capped a dominant season by winning the 1A State Championship in 15:23.0, leading Cedar Park Christian to its third straight state title. Zimmerman also claimed the Emerald Sound Conference championship and the 1A District 2 title, completing a clean sweep of major postseason races and establishing himself as one of the top young runners in Washington.
SAGE BUHRIG – Omak Cross Country (SR)
Senior captain Sage Buhrig capped an outstanding career by qualifying for the WIAA State Championships for the fourth straight year, becoming the first Omak runner since 2001 to do so. At the district meet on the challenging Apple Ridge course, Buhrig ran a patient race, moving up throughout the final mile to finish 27th in 21:09 and secure her spot at state. A seven-year member of the Omak cross country program and three-year captain, Buhrig’s leadership has set the standard for the Pioneers.
ADDISON CONLEY – Kittitas Volleyball (SR)
Senior setter Addison Conley has been instrumental in leading Kittitas to an undefeated 16-0 regular season and an EWAC League Championship. During the EWAC Tournament, she recorded 78 assists, 18 digs, 8 kills, and 2 blocks, including a personal best 50 assists in the championship match, where the Coyotes rallied from a 0-2 deficit to win in five sets.
JOHNNY FERGUSON – Moses Lake Christian/Covenant Christian Football (SR)
Senior quarterback Johnny Ferguson delivered another outstanding all-around performance in a 53-8 win over Soap Lake. He threw for 168 yards and three touchdowns, rushed for 112 yards and two scores on just three carries, and added two interceptions on defense, returning both for touchdowns of 68 and 60 yards. Ferguson also ran in a two-point conversion and went 1-for-1 on extra points, continuing his stellar senior season.
AVA FIELD – Steilacoom Swimming & Diving (SR)
Senior captain Ava Field had a record-setting week at the SPSL League Championships, leading Steilacoom to a first-place team finish and an undefeated regular season. Field broke two league meet records, the 100 Butterfly (58.85) and 100 Backstroke (58.46), while also setting new school records in the Butterfly (59.85) and Breaststroke (1:07.89). A two-year captain known for her talent, humility, and leadership, Field continues to inspire her teammates through her dedication and support both in and out of the pool.
KAYLA LAMBIOTTE – Timberline Swimming & Diving (JR)
Junior Kayla Lambiotte had an outstanding showing at the WCD III District Championships, posting lifetime bests in both the 200- and 500-yard freestyle. She dropped two seconds in the 200 (2:07.97, 5th place) and seven seconds in the 500 (5:41.04, 4th place), becoming Timberline’s first state qualifier in the girls’ 500 freestyle since 2015. Lambiotte also anchored the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays, helping the 400 finish 4th in 4:07.50 with a lifetime-best 58.84 split, earning Timberline’s first girls’ 400 freestyle relay state berth since 2018.
OGI PETRONIJEVIC – Chief Sealth International Football (SR)
Senior kicker Ogi Petronijevic connected on a 53-yard field goal from the right hash in Chief Sealth’s matchup against Lincoln (Seattle), surpassing his previous personal best of 52 yards set earlier this season. He was also a perfect 4-for-4 on extra points, extending his season total to 24-for-24.
LOGAN RINGSTAD – Curlew Football (SR)
Senior running back Logan Ringstad delivered an extraordinary performance in the 1B NE North League Championship game against Inchelium. After Curlew’s quarterback went down, Ringstad carried the offense, rushing for 543 yards and seven touchdowns on 33 carries, adding a 13-yard reception, three two-point conversions, and a fumble recovery. He also led the team with seven tackles on defense.
RYLEE RUSSELL – Freeman Soccer (SR)
Senior captain Rylee Russell has been unstoppable this season, scoring 52 goals — the most in Washington across all classifications and ranking No. 11 nationally according to MaxPreps. Russell led Freeman to a state championship last year and has guided the Scotties to a 14-2 record and another league title this season. Off the field, she helps grow the game by leading youth soccer camps and recently committed to continue her career at the College of Idaho.
DAWNTE SMITH – Thomas Jefferson Football (JR)
Junior wide receiver Dawnte “DJ” Smith had a standout performance, catching 11 passes for 221 yards and four touchdowns while also blocking a kick. A two-way starter and team leader, Smith ranks as the NPSL’s No. 1 receiver with 46 catches for 700 yards and 12 touchdowns, and sits among the league’s top three in all-purpose yards, scoring, and punt returns.
AVA SWIGART – Lewis and Clark Swimming & Diving (SR)
Senior Ava Swigart continues to dominate in the pool for Lewis and Clark, capturing district titles and setting meet records in both the 200- and 500-yard freestyle. MAX VALENCIA – Pasco Football (SR)
Senior standout Max Valencia delivered a remarkable performance in Pasco’s senior night win over Hanford. Playing through a shoulder injury, he recorded two interceptions, three total touchdowns, nine catches for 156 yards, and capped the night with an 81-yard game-winning kick return, finishing with 237 all-purpose yards. Valencia now has nine interceptions on the season, tying the school record and leading the MCC, along with 36 catches for 568 yards and 11 touchdowns on offense.
LATHAM WEST – Bonney Lake Cross Country (SR)
Senior Latham West captured the SPSL 4A League Championship with a time of 17:43, finishing 45 seconds ahead of the field. She was also named the SPSL Girls Athlete of the Year for the third consecutive season.
EVAN BARNES – Bethel Football (SR)
Senior quarterback and team captain Evan Barnes led Bethel to a crucial win over Bonney Lake, completing 17 of 23 passes for 348 yards and four touchdowns. Barnes sits atop the league in passing and continues to lead the Bison with consistency under center.
KATE BEARDSLEE – Northport Volleyball (SO)
Sophomore captain Kate Beardslee helped lead Northport to a 2-1 week, securing the league championship with an 11-1 record. She totaled 39 kills, 6 aces, 40 digs, 6 blocks, and 2 assists across three matches.
MORGAN CHRISTIAN – Redmond Swimming & Diving (SR)
Senior captain Morgan Christian set a new school record at a diving qualification meet on October 25 at Hazen High School, scoring 405.85 points – a state-qualifying and All-American consideration mark. Christian currently ranks second in the state at the 4A level and has committed to continue her diving career at the University of Idaho next year.
CHRISTIAN HARLOW – King’s Way Christian Golf (FR)
Freshman Christian Harlow dominated the district golf tournament at Tumwater Valley Golf Club, winning by 21 strokes and firing an incredible 11-under-par 61 in the second round. His historic performance led King’s Way Christian to its first district team title in many years.
CONNER HILL – Toledo Cross Country (SO)
Sophomore Conner Hill has put together an impressive season with multiple first-place finishes at major meets, including a Top-20 showing at the Nike Portland XC Invitational. He recently set a personal record of 15:56 – the fastest time in the 2B classification so far this season.
MERLIN LY – Mount Tahoma Tennis (SR)
Senior Merlin Ly delivered a dominant performance at the league tournament from October 21–23, entering as the No. 1 seed and living up to the top billing. Ly swept through his matches, winning 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1 in the opening rounds before defeating the No. 4 seed 6-0, 6-0 in the semifinals and the No. 2 seed 6-1, 6-1 in the final, losing only three games the entire tournament.
TIMOTEO MALO – Orcas Island Soccer (JR)
Junior goalkeeper Timoteo Malo has been a defensive anchor for Orcas Island, allowing only six goals across 15 matches this season – the fewest in the league. Malo has come up with clutch saves against top competition and has shown consistency, focus, and leadership throughout the year, helping the Vikings stay competitive in every match.
SASHA PASH – La Center Cross Country (JR)
Junior Sasha Pash has been unstoppable this season, going undefeated in every Tri-Co League race and clinching the league title last week with a winning time of 19:57 at Vancouver Lake.
MATTEA PATTENAUDE – Renton Soccer (SR)
Senior captain Mattea Pattenaude has been the heart of Renton’s defense and a true leader on the field. The team’s only four-year varsity player, she has anchored the back line all season, preventing countless goals while also contributing six of her own. This week, Pattenaude scored in the final minute of overtime to send Renton to the district playoffs.
QUINCY SCHUERMAN – Mt. Spokane Slowpitch (SR)
Senior Quincy Schuerman capped off an incredible season by hitting three home runs at the state tournament, helping Mt. Spokane capture its third consecutive state championship. Schuerman leads the Greater Spokane League in home runs and continues to be a powerful presence at the plate for the Wildcats.
GAIGE STENSGAR – Inchelium Football (SR)
Senior Gaige Stensgar delivered an incredible all-around performance for Inchelium. He rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown, added 175 receiving yards and four more scores, and made nine tackles with two interceptions on defense – returning one for a touchdown. With two successful two-point conversions, Stensgar accounted for 40 total points in the game.
DANIEL TRAN – Evergreen Tennis (SR)
Senior captain Daniel Tran completed an undefeated season at No. 1 singles, finishing 10-0 in regular-season play without dropping a set. At the KingCo Conference Tournament, Tran entered as the top seed, earning a first-round bye before defeating the No. 4 seed in the semifinals and the No. 2 seed in the finals – both in straight sets. His dominant performance earned him the title of KingCo Conference Boys Tennis MVP.
BROOK ALVARADO – Wapato Volleyball (SO)
Sophomore outside hitter Brooke Alvarado has been a driving force behind Wapato’s resurgence, helping the Wolfpack double their win total from last season. The 5’10” team captain tallied 21 kills and 13 digs in a sweep of Kiona-Benton, then followed with 18 kills and 17 digs in a win over Naches Valley. A three-sport varsity athlete and 4.0 GPA student, Alvarado leads by example both on and off the court.
CHRIS BANKER – Raymond-South Bend Football (SR)
Senior running back Chris Banker rushed for 275 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries in a 49-14 win over Columbia (White Salmon). It marked his second game this season with over 275 rushing yards. Banker has now totaled 1,182 yards on the year, continuing to power the Raymond-South Bend offense.
BRAELYN CAREY – Lakes Soccer (SR)
Senior captain Braelyn Carey has been a key leader for a young Lakes squad, guiding the team’s steady improvement throughout the season. She scored a hat trick and added an assist in a 5-3 win over River Ridge, then followed with two goals in a narrow 3-2 loss to Timberline. Carey’s leadership, competitiveness, and example have set the standard for her teammates and left a lasting impact on the program.
ABBIE DOUGLAS – Othello Volleyball (SR)
Senior captain Abbie Douglas led Othello with 32 kills, 3 aces, and 14 digs across matches against Prosser and Ephrata last week, continuing to anchor the Huskies with her consistent all-around play and leadership on the court.
ETHAN FOGELSTROM – Entiat Football (JR)
Junior quarterback Ethan Fogelstrom led Entiat to a dominant 66-22 NCW 1B League win over rival Waterville on October 20. Fogelstrom rushed 13 times for 207 yards and five touchdowns, completed 9 of 13 passes for 201 yards and two more scores, and added four successful two-point conversions. On defense, he recorded six tackles, including three for loss, and a pass breakup from his outside linebacker position.
JULIAN HAYES – Interlake Football (SR)
Senior quarterback and team captain Julian Hayes led Interlake to a 48-7 win over Cedarcrest, securing first place in the KingCo Lake Division and improving the Saints to 6-1 on the season. Hayes accounted for 400 total yards, 335 passing and 65 rushing, with seven total touchdowns (six passing, one rushing) and no turnovers.
LEROY LOZANO MEJIA – Hermiston Cross Country (SO)
Sophomore Leroy Lozano Mejia continued his breakout season with a win at the Battle of the 509, defeating some of the top competition from across the Northwest and the nation. The following weekend, he placed 4th at the Nike Hole in the Wall Invitational with a time of 14:55, solidifying his status as one of the country’s top young distance runners. Remarkably, Lozano Mejia has yet to be beaten by another sophomore in his high school career.
JACE SALME – Zillah Football (SO)
Sophomore Jace Salme had a standout two-way performance in Zillah’s 47-13 win over Ellensburg. He caught 14 passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns on offense, while adding eight tackles and two interceptions on defense to help lead the Leopards to victory.
PAITYN THRASHER – Tonasket Volleyball (SR)
Senior setter Paityn Thrasher continues to rewrite the Tonasket record books, breaking her own school record for most assists in a match and surpassing 1,500 career assists this season. Over her last three games, she has served 97% with 2 aces, hit .125, and totaled 94 assists and 40 digs. A four-year letter winner and three-year captain, Thrasher is also a 4.0 student participating in Running Start through Wenatchee Valley College.
RUBY TRUJILLO WALSEY – Yakama Nation Tribal School Volleyball (SR)
Senior setter Ruby Trujillo Walsey reached a major milestone on October 9, recording her 1,000th career assist. A 4.0 GPA student and Running Start participant at Yakima Valley College, Trujillo Walsey continues to lead by example through her work ethic, intensity, and sportsmanship.
AKILYON WASHINGTON – North Central Football (SR)
Senior quarterback Akilyon “AK” Washington led a dramatic comeback for North Central in a 36-35 overtime win against Pullman. After trailing 14-6 at halftime, Washington threw four second-half touchdowns, including one in overtime, and completed the game-winning two-point conversion. He finished 21-of-35 passing for 295 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions, guiding the Wolfpack to a thrilling victory on Pullman’s homecoming night.
ZOE WONG – Hazen Soccer (JR)
Junior forward Zoe Wong delivered a standout week for Hazen, scoring three goals and adding an assist in a 4-2 win over Juanita. In the two previous matches, she contributed two goals and an assist, bringing her season totals to 11 goals and 5 assists while continuing to power the Highlanders’ offense.
COHEN BUTLER – Camas Cross Country (SR)
Senior Cohen Butler delivered a historic performance at the Hole in the Wall Invitational, winning the race in 14:36, the fastest time ever recorded on the course. His record-breaking effort came against one of the strongest fields in the Northwest. Butler’s dominant run also set a new school record and solidified his status as one of Washington’s top distance runners this season.
MAX KASIMOV – Toutle Lake Football (SR)
Senior Max Kasimov delivered a standout two-way performance in Toutle Lake’s homecoming game. Kasimov started at left tackle and middle linebacker, recording 10 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks on defense. On offense, he tallied 4 pancake blocks with no sacks allowed and added 48 rushing yards and a touchdown on 3 carries, plus a successful two-point conversion.
BEAU EVERSON – Granite Falls Football (JR)
Junior Beau Everson made a huge impact in his first game back from an elbow injury, leading Granite Falls to a 48-12 win over Friday Harbor. Everson rushed for 178 yards and five touchdowns on 15 carries (11.8 yards per carry), added three receptions for 55 yards, and totaled 233 all-purpose yards. On defense, he led the Tigers with eight tackles and five quarterback pressures.
SAGE HART – Soap Lake Volleyball (SR)
Senior captain Sage Hart delivered a dominant week for Soap Lake, leading her team through four matches in four days. She totaled 41 kills, 11 aces, and just 4 hitting errors on 81 attempts, showing exceptional consistency and power. Hart also committed only 5 serving errors on 51 attempts and holds a 93% serving percentage for the season. A 3.9 GPA student, she exemplifies excellence both on the court and in the classroom, setting the standard for leadership and performance.
JANE JACKMAN – Gig Harbor Swimming & Diving (FR)
Freshman diver Jane Jackman is off to a remarkable start for Gig Harbor, winning all of her dual meet competitions and back-to-back WCD III 11-Dive Meet titles. On October 4, she posted a state-qualifying score of 414.80, the highest diving score across all classifications in the state, finishing 61 points ahead of the runner-up. She followed with another victory at the WCD III 11-Dive Meet at Stadium High School, scoring 405.20, again above the state qualifying mark. Jackman’s early success reflects her hard work, dedication, and poise as one of the state’s top young divers.
HARLEY KAISER – Sehome Tennis (SR)
Senior captain Harley Kaiser has set the standard for leadership and excellence on and off the court. Undefeated at No. 1 singles (12-0) this season, he competes with integrity and intensity. A third-place state finisher as a junior, Kaiser continues to elevate his game while mentoring teammates and offering encouragement during extra practice sessions. His work ethic, positivity, and dedication make him a true leader for Sehome tennis.
ARIANA LOPEZ – East Valley (Yakima) Soccer (SR)
Senior captain Ariana Lopez had a milestone week for East Valley, scoring eight goals across three matches, including the 100th goal of her career. She now has 31 goals and six assists this season, bringing her career totals to 102 goals and 30 assists. Lopez is only the second player in school history to surpass the 100-goal mark and pairs her on-field excellence with a 3.961 GPA in the classroom.
TREYLON MCGRAW – Heritage Football (SO)
Sophomore Treylon McGraw made a major impact on both sides of the ball in Heritage’s 21-0 win over Mountain View. He caught three passes for 102 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown, added two interceptions on defense, and returned a punt 50 yards for another score.
MADILYNN SHURTLEFF – Selah Volleyball (SR)
Senior captain Madilynn Shurtleff has been a cornerstone of Selah’s volleyball program, earning four varsity letters and serving as team captain for three seasons. This year, she achieved two remarkable milestones, recording her 1,000th career kill and 1,000th career dig. Her consistency, leadership, and competitive drive have set the standard for the program, and she continues to lead with integrity, enthusiasm, and heart.
LILY STAAT – Wenatchee Softball (Slowpitch) (SR)
Senior first baseman Lily Staat had a dominant week at the plate, going 4-for-5 with six RBIs against Davis on October 7, hitting for the cycle with a triple, double, single, and inside-the-park home run. She finished the night with eight RBIs, helping lead Wenatchee to two key league wins. On the season, Staat is batting .541 with an .821 slugging percentage and leads the team with 20 RBIs.
JAYDEN STODDARD – Wahkiakum Football (SR)
Senior quarterback Jayden Stoddard delivered another standout performance, completing 7 of 9 passes for 313 yards and five touchdowns while adding two carries for 23 yards and another score. On defense, he tallied six tackles, one tackle for loss, and a fumble recovery. Stoddard now has 1,539 total yards with 21 passing touchdowns and 12 rushing touchdowns through five games.
ESTELLE THORSON – South Whidbey Soccer (SR)
Senior goalkeeper Estelle Thorson has been a key leader in South Whidbey’s turnaround season, helping the Falcons win four straight matches, including three against top conference opponents – Overlake, King’s, and Northwest. Thorson allowed zero goals across those four contests, anchoring the defense and providing steady leadership to a young varsity squad. Her poise and clutch saves have propelled South Whidbey to its first Emerald Sound playoff berth since 2021.
HUNTER ANDERSON – Darrington Football (SR)
Senior quarterback Hunter Anderson led Darrington to a historic 38-36 comeback win over Neah Bay, rallying the Loggers from a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit. Anderson completed 19 of 28 passes for 330 yards and three touchdowns, adding two rushing scores to secure Darrington’s first-ever victory over Neah Bay and the Red Devils’ first home loss since 2019.
ANSEN ASBJORNSEN – Squalicum Football (SR)
Senior wide receiver and defensive back Ansen Asbjornsen led Squalicum to a statement win over two-time defending state champion and top-ranked Anacortes. Asbjornsen caught 13 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns, threw for another score, and made eight tackles on defense with two interceptions, including the game-clinching pick with 18 seconds remaining. He also added over 60 yards on kick and punt returns. A standout both on the field and in the classroom, Asbjornsen maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA.
KUTTER DRIVER – Newport Football (JR)
Junior running back Kutter Driver rushed 11 times for 214 yards and three touchdowns, leading Newport to a 42-0 win over Northwest Christian on September 26. A three-sport athlete with a 3.2 GPA, Driver is also active in several school and community organizations, including 4-H, FFA, and SkillsUSA.
CATE KOVATS – Issaquah Soccer (SR)
Senior captain Cate Kovats totaled one goal and four assists to help lead Issaquah to a pair of key league wins and sole possession of first place at 5-0. She scored the opening goal in a 2-1 victory over previously unbeaten Lake Washington and assisted the first four goals in a 6-0 win against Inglemoor. Kovats was a constant offensive threat throughout the week, creating numerous scoring opportunities for the Eagles.
ASHLYNN HUTCHINGS – Northwest Christian Volleyball (SO)
Sophomore Ashlynn Hutchings delivered a dominant all-around performance in Northwest Christian’s 3-1 win over the last remaining undefeated team in the Sea-Tac League. She recorded 13 kills, 4 aces, and 7 digs, showcasing her versatility, leadership, and energy on the court.
EVAN LY – Auburn Riverside Tennis (SO)
Sophomore Evan Ly has been dominant at No. 1 singles for Auburn Riverside, helping lead the Ravens to a 13-0 record. A returning state qualifier and team captain, Ly has yet to drop a set this season, winning 26 straight, while consistently facing the toughest players in the league. He continues to set the tone for Auburn Riverside as they pursue their fourth consecutive league title.
EMMARIA MENDOZA – Naches Valley Soccer (SO)
Sophomore Emmaria Mendoza was a dominant force for Naches Valley this past week, leading the Rangers to three victories. Across the three matches, she totaled nine goals and three assists, showcasing her consistency and offensive firepower as one of the team’s top players.
J’ISAIAH MITCHELL – Puyallup Football (JR)
Junior wideout J’Isaiah Mitchell had a big night in Puyallup’s 58-22 win over defending 4A state champ Sumner, hauling in 10 catches for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns.
BRADY MOE – Timberline Cross Country (SR)
Senior Brady Moe has made a major impact in just his second year running cross country for Timberline. He became the fastest runner in the program’s 56-year history, setting a new school record in the 5K with a time of 16:13. Moe also became the first Timberline boys’ runner in 15 years to capture a first-place finish, winning the league meet on October 1. A 3.8 GPA student and respected team leader, Moe exemplifies dedication, humility, and excellence both on and off the course.
JULIET PEREZ – Ilwaco Soccer (SR)
Senior goalkeeper Juliet Perez led Ilwaco to a 4-0 non-league victory over Warrenton on September 23, recording 20 saves to secure the team’s first shutout since 2019. Her outstanding performance anchored the defense and helped the Fishermen earn a milestone win.
ALEC PLA – Charles Wright Academy Tennis (FR)
Freshman Alec Pla has yet to drop a set this season, displaying remarkable dominance at No. 1 singles. He has defeated every top player he’s faced from 1A, 2A, and 4A programs, conceding only eight games total. With his commanding record, Pla is the clear frontrunner for the No. 1 seed in the WIAA 1A West Central District III Tournament.
ANNELIESE TRIEBWASSER – Walla Walla Soccer (SR)
Senior goalkeeper Anneliese Triebwasser came up clutch in Walla Walla’s win over Pasco on October 2, making three saves in a penalty shootout to secure the victory for the Blue Devils. Her composure and leadership exemplify what it means to be a true competitor and team leader.
CLAIRE BUTLER – Glacier Peak Swimming & Diving (SR)
Senior diver Claire Butler scored 386.80 points in the 1-Meter Dive at the Mukilteo Invitational at King County Aquatic Center, earning 1st place overall. A multi-time state podium finisher and team captain, she has demonstrated poise, confidence, and resiliency on the boards this season as she continues to build on her impressive resume.
HEIDI CHAMBERS – Snohomish Volleyball (SR)
Senior outside hitter Heidi Chambers has been a key contributor to Snohomish’s success. Over her last two matches, she totaled 40 kills, 34 digs, and posted a 2.4 serve receive rating in a four-set victory.
EVIE FIKKERT – Mount Vernon Christian Cross Country (SR)
Senior distance runner Evie Fikkert is off to a strong start this fall. A 9th-place finisher at last year’s State Championships, she won a Northwest Conference meet against 1A, 2A, and 3A competition earlier in the week, then followed it with a 1st-place finish at Sultan’s Return of the Salmon Invitational. Outpacing a field of 134 runners, Fikkert clocked a season-best 19:31.90, ranking her as the 5th-fastest 1B/2B runner in the state by 30 seconds.
AMAREE GOLOB – Granger Volleyball (JR)
Junior setter Amaree Golob surpassed a major career milestone this past week, recording over 1,000 career assists for the Spartans. She has been a key contributor to Granger’s success and a role model for her teammates.
MAILEE HILBURN – Anacortes Soccer (JR)
Junior forward Mailee Hilburn scored five goals this past week, including four against 9th-ranked Squalicum, bringing her season total to 13 goals in just six matches. A Notre Dame commit, she has been critical to Anacortes’ attack, using her speed and skill to both finish and create opportunities for her teammates.
MAX GRINDY – Almira-Coulee-Hartline Football (JR)
Junior standout Max Grindy led Almira-Coulee-Hartline to a 92-44 victory on Saturday, scoring six total touchdowns and racking up 361 all-purpose yards. Grindy rushed 10 times for 167 yards and three touchdowns, caught three passes for 36 yards and two more scores, and added four kick returns for 158 yards, including a 90-yard touchdown return.
WYATT HOFFMAN – W.F. West Football (SO)
Sophomore quarterback Wyatt Hoffman put up 456 total yards in a September 26th matchup, completing 20 of 29 passes for 385 yards and five touchdowns while also rushing 10 times for 71 yards and a score.
WYLEE KEPLINGER – Ocosta Soccer (FR)
Wylee Keplinger played a key role in Ocosta’s 7-0 victory over Ilwaco on September 25, recording two goals and two assists. Her all-around impact on the attack showcased both her finishing ability and playmaking skills, helping lead the Wildcats to the win.
MIKAYLA LILJENQUIST – Cedar Park Christian Volleyball (SR)
Senior setter Mikayla Liljenquist has been a varsity starter since her freshman year and continues to be a leader for Cedar Park Christian. Over seven sets this past week, she recorded 70 assists (10 per set), 22 digs (3.14 per set), 7 aces (1 per set), 8 kills (.353), and a block. A team captain, Liljenquist not only directs the offense but also invests in the growth of younger athletes, coaching at WVBA and school youth camps.
AYDIN MAWJEE – The Bush School Golf (FR)
Freshman Aydin Mawjee has opened his season with three straight top-two finishes. He placed 2nd in Week 1 (36), won Week 2 (33), and tied for 1st in Week 3 (36). In his most recent round, Mawjee eagled the 9th hole to erase a two-stroke deficit and secure the tie, helping Bush defeat Overlake 152–158.
DESMOND PARKINSON – West Seattle Football (JR)
Junior quarterback Desmond Parkinson led West Seattle to a 44-7 win over 4A Lincoln (Seattle), completing 18 of 27 passes for 370 yards and three touchdowns. His ability to stretch the field and connect with multiple receivers fueled the Wildcats’ offense as they improved to 3-0 on the season.
KOOPER TASLER – Stadium Football (SR)
Senior quarterback Kooper Tasler powered Stadium to a 46-44 win over Auburn in a Week 4 North Puget Sound League matchup. Tasler threw for 266 yards and two touchdowns on 9-of-14 passing, added 126 rushing yards and two scores on 12 carries, and converted four PATs. He finished with 392 total yards and four touchdowns, leading the Tigers to a 4-0 start to the season.
SPENCER BOGH – Liberty Football (SR)
Outside linebacker and running back Spencer Bogh delivered an outstanding performance in a key KingCo 3A victory over Mercer Island. He recorded three interceptions on defense, returning them for a total of 102 yards, including a 75-yard pick-six. On offense, he added six carries for 62 yards, averaging 10.3 yards per carry.
LILLI BRIONES – Sunnyside Softball (SR)
Lilli Briones delivered an incredible offensive performance in a doubleheader on September 15, going 9-for-9 at the plate with 16 RBIs. She hit three home runs, including a grand slam, and also hit for the cycle.
JERIEL CARREON – Mabton Football (JR)
Jeriel Carreon delivered a standout performance against Entiat, throwing for a career-high 177 yards and 2 touchdowns while also rushing for 140 yards and a score. On defense, he led the team with 11 tackles and added a sack.
BROOKE DAVIS – Naselle Volleyball (SR)
Brooke Davis led Naselle to key victories over Willapa Valley and Mary M. Knight last week, totaling 12 kills, 6 aces, and 26 digs across the two matches. Against league rival Willapa Valley, she helped the Comets rally for a five-set win with 8 kills, 20 digs, and 3 assists. Davis’s leadership continues to fuel Naselle’s unbeaten start to the season.
ELLA EIB – R.A. Long Volleyball (SR)
Ella Eib delivered a dominant performance against Washougal, recording 17 kills with zero errors while hitting .653. She added 5 digs, 11 blocks, and a 2.5 serve-receive rating, continuing to lead R.A. Long in multiple categories and elevating the play of those around her.
COLT LANDSTROM – Elma Football (JR)
Colt Landstrom showcased his three-phase impact in Elma’s matchup against Highline, totaling 256 all-purpose yards and 3 touchdowns. He caught 7 passes for 101 yards and a score, returned a 75-yard punt for a touchdown, and added an 80-yard touchdown off a blocked field goal. Defensively, he contributed 4 tackles, including one for loss, and a pass breakup.
MADELINE MAYS – Oak Harbor Soccer (SR)
Madeline Mays powered Oak Harbor to four victories last week, scoring 9 goals and adding 2 assists. A proven playmaker and scorer, she continues to be a key contributor for the Wildcats on both ends of the field.
MI’RO PARR-COFFIN – Gonzaga Prep Cross Country (FR)
Freshman Mi’ro Parr-Coffin has made an immediate impact this fall, highlighted by a 2nd-place finish at the elite Mook Invitational 5K in Tillamook, Oregon, with a time of 14:29 – the fastest 5K in Washington this season across all grades and the top time nationally for a freshman. He followed that performance by winning the Freshman division at the Highlander Invitational in Spokane, posting the fastest time of the day among more than 600 runners.
ETHAN THAYER – Onalaska Football (JR)
Ethan Thayer powered Onalaska to a 46-14 win over Cedar Park Christian, rushing 28 times for 311 yards and 3 touchdowns, highlighted by an 80-yard run to the end zone.
MALCOLM TUKES – Centralia Football (SR)
Malcolm Tukes has been a force for Centralia this season. In Week 2, he powered the Tigers to their first win in nearly two years with 18 carries for 140 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 35-0 victory over R.A. Long, while also adding a 10-yard reception and multiple defensive stops. He followed that up in Week 3 against Foster with 36 carries for 230 yards, continuing to lead the Tigers on both sides of the ball.
JENICA WALLING – Cascade Christian Volleyball (SR)
Jenica Walling has opened the season with five double-doubles in six matches, totaling 101 kills and 65 digs. The outside hitter delivered 43 kills and 32 digs in matches against 4A opponents Graham-Kapowsin, Rogers, and Puyallup, and now has 36 career double-doubles. Walling is committed to play Division I beach volleyball at Cal State Bakersfield.
CLAIRE WICHMAN – Northwest Christian Soccer (JR)
Claire Wichman delivered a dominant performance in Northwest Christian’s 5-4 win over Lakeside (Nine Mile), scoring all 5 of her team’s goals.
KAYLEE AJANOVIC – Crosspoint Christian Soccer (JR)
Kaylee Ajanovic scored 4 goals and added 1 assist over two games this week, including a hat trick, leading Crosspoint Christian with her offensive firepower. A standout striker and uplifting teammate, she also maintains a 3.64 GPA and brings energy and positivity to her team on and off the field.
ADYSON BARROWS – Mossyrock Volleyball (SR)
Adyson Barrows delivered a standout performance in Mossyrock’s 3-2 victory over Black Hills, leading the team with 19 kills, 13 aces, including 7 in the decisive fifth set: 20 digs, and a 33-for-35 performance from the service line. Her leadership and all-around impact were key to the win.
MABEL BORGEN – Juanita Slowpitch Softball (SO)
Mabel Borgen played a key role in Juanita’s first two wins of the season, going 5-for-6 at the plate with an .833 batting average and a home run. Defensively, she showcased her versatility, playing second base, third base, and pitching 9 innings with a 1.556 ERA. As a sophomore, Borgen is already emerging as a team leader, helping coach and support her less experienced teammates.
DANI BOWLER – Lynden Football (SR)
Dani Bowler made a major impact in all three phases of the game during Lynden’s 21-20 win over No. 4-ranked Franklin Pierce. He opened the game with an 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and followed it with a 70-yard receiving touchdown in the second quarter, accounting for the team’s first 14 points. Bowler also served as the holder on extra points, finished with 81 receiving yards, and contributed 4 tackles and a pass defended on defense for the No. 3-ranked Lions.
ELLA EBERHARDT – Bishop Blanchet Volleyball (SO)
Ella Eberhardt made an impressive varsity debut last week, tallying 20 kills, 9 digs, 2 aces, and a pair of blocks. The sophomore made an immediate impact on both sides of the net for Bishop Blanchet.
ETHAN FLY – Upper Columbia Academy Soccer (JR)
Junior captain Ethan Fly led Upper Columbia Academy to a 2-0 start to the season, scoring an impressive 7 goals across two games.
BODEN FREEBORN – Bellevue Golf (SO)
Sophomore Boden Freeborn had a standout week on the course for Bellevue High School. In a match against Mercer Island, he recorded five birdies and fired a career-best 4-under-par 30 to lead the Wolverines to victory. Earlier in the week, he shot a 1-under-par 35 in a win over Highline, helping Bellevue continue their strong season.
MALIK ORTIZ – Colville Cross Country (JR)
Colville junior Malik Ortiz delivered another outstanding week on the cross country course. He placed 2nd in the Junior 2.5-mile race at the Highlander Invitational with a time of 12:54, competing against a field of 188 athletes. Among all high school boys (over 800 runners), he finished 4th overall. Additionally, his 16:23 5K at the Timberline Invitational currently stands as the fastest 1A boys’ time in the state.
MACIE SMART – Cashmere Volleyball (JR)
Junior Macie Smart led the Cashmere Bulldogs to two league wins and their first-ever Sundome Festival Championship last week without dropping a set. She served at a 96% rate and tallied 19 aces, while averaging a .565 hitting percentage with 87 kills across the week. In the championship match against Manson, Macie went a perfect 16-for-16 from the service line with 4 aces and hit 14-for-14 with 12 kills. She also had zero errors on serve receive and added 3 blocks in the dominant straight-sets victory.
TYLER SWAN – Neah Bay Football (SR)
Tyler Swan put on a remarkable all-around performance for Neah Bay, scoring five total touchdowns in four different ways, including four TDs in just three minutes during a dominant third quarter. He opened with a short touchdown reception in the first half, then exploded in the third with a 51-yard rushing TD, two separate 35-yard fumble return touchdowns, and a 72-yard kickoff return to cap the flurry. Swan totaled 252 all-purpose yards: 88 rushing (7 carries), 18 receiving (3 catches), 72 on kick returns, and 74 on fumble recoveries. He also made a major impact on defense, recording 7 solo tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 1 sack.
MYLES JOHNSON – Eastlake Football (SR)
Myles Johnson delivered a dominant two-way performance in Week 2 to lead Eastlake to a victory over Gig Harbor. On offense, Johnson rushed 21 times for 209 yards and 3 touchdowns, while also hauling in 2 receptions for 54 yards and another score. Defensively, he added 4 tackles and made a game-changing 95-yard fumble return for a touchdown, bringing his total to 5 TDs on the night, including one on defense. A true all-around impact player for the Wolves.
HANNAH VAN DUSEN – Steilacoom Soccer (FR)
Freshman Hannah Van Dusen made an immediate impact in her high school debut, netting a hat trick in Steilacoom’s 3-1 season-opening win over Kingston. Her 3-goal performance powered the Lady Sentinels to victory and set the tone for a strong start to the year.
BRYSON ALLEN – Franklin Pierce Football (SR)
Reigning 2A SPSL MVP Bryson Allen opened his senior season with a dominant showing against 3A Lincoln (Tacoma), rushing for 285 yards and 5 touchdowns while averaging 8.6 yards per carry. His performance powered the Cardinals to a 38-29 victory.
DAMAN GALE – Davenport Football (SO)
Daman Gale delivered a strong two-way performance, rushing for 116 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Defensively, he recorded 13 tackles, forced a fumble, and recovered an onside kick, playing a key role in all phases of the game for Davenport.
ELIZABETH HOOVER – Rochester Soccer (JR)
Elizabeth Hoover recorded a hat trick in Rochester’s 3-1 win over Onalaska on October 4, 2025, accounting for all of her team’s goals in the victory.
BRYNN HUGHBANKS – Chelan Volleyball (SR)
Brynn Hughbanks opened the season with a dominant performance, leading Chelan to a five-set victory over 2A Ellensburg. The senior tallied 42 kills, an unofficial school record, along with 23 digs and 2 blocks, setting the tone for the Mountain Goats on both offense and defense.
LEWIS KOSER – Oakville Football (SR)
Lewis Koser showcased his all-around athleticism on the football field with a standout performance against Ocosta. He rushed for three touchdowns, returned a kickoff 85 yards for another score, and totaled 185 all-purpose yards. Defensively, Koser added 11 tackles and a sack in the dominant showing
BRENDAN KRAMER – Grandview Cross Country (JR)
Brendan Kramer placed first in the fastest boys’ heat at the Ellensburg Relays, tying the meet’s fastest time with 8:03.09 among 17 competing schools. His performance also broke the Grandview High School record, marking a standout moment in his junior season.
ERIC LOU – Overlake Tennis (FR)
Freshman Eric Lou won his first varsity match at the No. 1 singles position in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. He defeated a 4A opponent with three years of State Tournament experience, marking an impressive debut for the Overlake standout.
JASMINE BEA LUMBERA – Shorewood Soccer (SR)
Jasmine Bea Lumbera opened the season with a strong performance, scoring 2 goals in Shorewood’s 4-0 win. She consistently created scoring opportunities and electrified the crowd with a highlight-reel move that showcased her skill and flair in the attack.
LYDIA LYNN – Ridgeline Soccer (JR)
Lydia Lynn led Ridgeline to a 5–1 win over Bothell High with a standout offensive performance, scoring 2 goals and assisting on 2 others. A two-year varsity letterwinner, she continues to be a driving force for the Falcons.
LEAH MONTERO – Kennedy Catholic Soccer (SO)
Leah Montero had a strong week on the pitch, scoring 2 goals and adding an assist in a win over Bellarmine Prep, followed by another 2-goal performance in a 2-2 draw against Tahoma.
AJ TUIVAIAVE – Graham-Kapowsin Football (SO)
AJ Tuivaiave led Graham-Kapowsin to a thrilling 40-38 win over O’Dea, throwing for 317 yards and 2 touchdowns on 17-of-31 passing. He also added 21 rushing yards and 3 more touchdowns on the ground, finishing with 5 total touchdowns in the victory.
TATUM ENGE – Mercer Island Swim & Dive (SO)
Tatum Enge opened the season with a dominant performance against Redmond, winning the 100 freestyle in 54.30 and qualifying for State in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.85. She also contributed to wins in both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays, starting the season with four event victories.
