CLASS OF 2008 INDUCTEE

Since 1986, DeSales High School baseball has established itself as one of the most dominant dynasties in Washington high school sports. Over that span, the Irish have compiled an extraordinary record of 486–93, highlighted by 15 state championships, three runner-up finishes, and one third-place finish. Incredibly, the program has failed to reach the Final Four only twice in nearly four decades. Even while challenging themselves with a demanding nonleague schedule against larger 3A and 4A schools, the Irish have held their own with a .500 winning percentage against those higher-classification opponents.

At the heart of this sustained success is longtime head coach Kim Cox, who has built the program on the principles of discipline, teamwork, and Catholic faith. His teams have become known statewide for their exceptional preparation, relentless competitiveness, and commitment to sportsmanship and integrity. Opponents knew that when they faced DeSales, they would meet a squad that was talented, passionate, and fundamentally sound.

The Irish also hold one of the most remarkable postseason streaks in state history: a run of 30 consecutive playoff victories. With Coach Cox still guiding the program and the tradition continuing strong, the DeSales legacy remains one of Washington’s greatest high school baseball stories.
